…this acting is Raymond Burr, more like.
Burr could act but it was incredibly understated. Shatner is over dramatic at times but Reeves simply cannot act.
I have seen Keanu Reeves deliver an amazing performance in only one scene.. In ‘Devil’s Advocate’ (with Al Pacino Charlize Theron) he goes beserk and distraught over his wife who has just killed herself. LOVE THAT MOVIE !
At least that ONE scene …. and a very difficult scene I might add …. seemed vividly real.
Otherwise yes, I have never seen him really act.
Didn’t his girlfriend die in real life too? That probably helped give the scene the emotional charge it needed. Sounded like he’s been through the wringer a bit.
I’ve got no complaints about the guy, the movies I watch of his tend not to be ones I expect a huge amount of acting in.
