Much as I enjoy batting them around just to hear them squeek ; ) , I find myself actively listening to — and agreeing with — a Tribble. Shatner is not the be all and end all of Trek, yet exploits his one lucky break back in 1966 for all he can get out of it. I suspect he will want LOTS of munnies, along with a ghostwritten column at ICHC and free ad space for whatever corporation he is hawking this week.

I want STD or STDay. As for Shatnerday: DO NOT WANT!!1!

P.S. There’s more to Star Trek that TOS? Why wasn’t I notified?

Yessss! STD is the best I’ve seen by far. If that makes Teh Burgers nervous, they could go with STDay. Shatnerday is RIGHT OUT. Star Trek is much, much more than the one-man circus that is *ugh* Shatner.

Shatnerday – No Way! Shatner is the one that said everyone who enjoyed Star Trek should “get a life”. Plus if you use his name, he is going to want a munnie. Check with your lolyers. This is for all of Star Trek, not just TOS. You can use Shatnerday if you do a Boston Legal day. Maybe he appreciates those fans more.
Everyone help me to multiply my “no” vote like tribbles multiply.
I have a question, if the last Saturday of the month is for ST, will that be all of the ST that we get? I like seeing ST scattered through the week.

Shatnerday is good because it’s not too much of a stretch. And, humorous. It’s not meant to be exclusive, just a nod to one of the forefathers of the curious cultural phenomenon that is Star Trek. And DS 9. And NG. and all the spinoffs, etc etc etc. So it’s not really a vote of who is your favorite (Data is mine, of course), it’s what can we call this thing that people will say “I get it!”

most of these suggestions have been somewhat unusable so far. Shatnerday is great, but as someone else said, it seems limiting. Phaserday is kind of workable.
What about using the other half of the word saturday? ie…Saturtrek. Saturprise. Saturkirk.
(personal favorite = saturtrek.)

The problem with Shatnerday is that it gives the impression that only Trek lols featuring Shatner/Kirk will be accepted. That does away with everything except TOS.
