  1. Green is Good says:

Aw, that’s really sweet. The man was a class act. Hollywood Royalty.

    • Prolife says:

NO! NOT ROYALTY!! You did *not* pay attention during class when the American Revolution was taught. The whole purpose of this war was to *reject* royalty, with it’s idea of the divine right of Kings. Paul Newman made his living pretending to be someone else. His life’s work was a fantasy. He did not produce anything really meaningful, except that people that actually work do need escapist entertainment to pull them out of their dreary lives. But to call him royalty is to insult the brave founders of this country that pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to bring about our egalitarian society. Better to gush over a real hero, like an EMT, fireman, law enforcement officer, or military personnel.

      • Anne Nona Myss says:

Excuse me? You think he never did anything meaningful with his life beyond acting? You’re as ignorant as the person you are accusing of not knowing American history! Paul Newman donated all profits and royalties from his “Newmans own” company to CHILDRENS CHARITIES AND that amounted to US $220 Million! Maybe you should get YOUR facts straight before you start saying that a man who has just died did nothing meaningful with his life beyond pretending. He also served in the Navy in World War 2, Now GTFO the interweb and STFU, you dont know what you are talking about!!!!

      • Grrr Power says:

        Thanks for your sensitivity.
        You’re a real gem.

      • Roaster says:

Your founding Fathers were all slave owners, the revolution made them all very rich. The declaration of independance is based on the Magna Carta a document written by a KING for the benefit of his BARONS, not people.

You need to get your head out of your propogandandered arse.

        • Stevie W says:

Stop getting your history out of propagandized public school text books ! They pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. Many were killed, several died penniless, their good and comfortable lives pretty much ended with the Declaration of Indepence.
Read the Federalist Papers. Or John Locke’s Two Treatises on Civil Government. Government founded on Biblical principles.
Ever wonder why there is a seperation of powers with checks and balances between Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches ?
Because of the SINFUL NATURE OF MAN, and if any one branch becomes too powerful would be a threat to our Republic.

          • Roaster says:

People who own slaves do not have sacred honour.

I’m prepared to bet you can’t see the sea from where you live. SImple rule of thumb most of us from the sane world us about ‘merkins is that if they can see they sea they are likely to be sane. If they can’t they will want to bomb you into the stone age so they can stay free to marry their sister.

          • Fotini says:

Sorry… when were negroes ALLOWED to got to the same school with white people WITHOUT being spat on? A damned long time after the Declaration of Independence was signed!
PRETTY FREAKING SURE ANY NATION WHO, AT IT’S CONCEPTION, WHILE FIGHTING FOR “FREEDOM” WERE ENSLAVING PEOPLE HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE PORTRAYED AS NOBLE!
This unfortunately has nothing to do with the fact that Paul Newman was a beautiful human being and, yes, Royalty IN HOLLYWOOD!

GOSH! The fact some person has used the American Revolution to discredit a compliment someone made about this good man, grinds my gears.

      • barboid says:

Are you serious? What planet do you live on M(s)Prolife? And you were schooled by whom? If you really read the first comment, you would have seen he was HOLLYWOOD royalty! If you cannot distinguish between definitions of almost 300 years ago and now, then you have a serious problem and need a reality check.

Mr. Newman had more class in his little pinky than you seem to have. Maybe you should consult a modern dictionary before you rant on word usage again. Mr. Newman also did a lot more than ‘just act’.

        • Stevie W says:

Yes, the definition of one word change change in about …225 years. But the definition of the document itself (Declaration, Constitution) does not change. If the meaning does change as future generations see fit, then there’s no purpose in having such a document.

And yes, the Newmans had too much sense and class to live in Hollywood.

      • dawn says:

        stfu…really

      • Stevie W says:

I agree with Prolife, as an actor …. and a race car driver, he did not do anything meaningful. He probably just forgot about his line of spaghetti sauce and salad dressing. $220 Mill to charity….that’s meaningful !
But Prolife must be tastebud-deficient …. I mean, come on ! To forget about Paul Newman’s spaghetti sauces ??!! :)

      • Sniper Kitteh says:

        FUDGE YOU. FUDGE. YOU.

      • blag says:

        Being a Sensable person: FAIL

    • Christine says:

If you can leave this earth better than you found it, you have done well. I heard Paul Newman say that he didn’t want to be remembered for his movies but for his work with ill children. The fact that he only had eyes for his wife of 50 years tells a lot about the man. I will miss him.

  2. i-dont-LOL says:

    dis is sew sweet!

  3. ThinklePeep says:

Class act, smooth talker, family man, good husband. Hats off to you, Mr. Newman.

  4. Shisno says:

Wait, is he dead? Do I have to go cut myself?

  5. spirit dancer says:

He was one in a million. All of the money he made from the “Neuman’s Own” dressings and such, after taxes, went to charity. We’ll never see another class act such as Paul. The world was a better place with him in it.

  6. A Wallflower says:

The World’s positive points just dropped……by a lot.

  7. arkmomy says:

They just don’t make men as classy as this anymore.

    RIP, Paul…you will be missed.

  8. Bill says:

I never knew how much of a humanitarian he was till after he was dead. Contrast that with Tom Cruise who has a press conference when he drops some money into a charity jar.

Paul Newman was one of a kind.

  9. ManfredMom says:

    He’ll definitely be missed.

  10. lonelyjew14 says:

*takes off hat* we’ll always remember you as a man of charity, class and many talents.

best regards for your family and friends.

  11. Lolnathan says:

This guy oozed class. Makes most of today’s celebrities and movie stars look like mentally challenged early primates.

  12. kitkatbar says:

    Coolness…..I was it.
*sniff sob*. This is so sad. :’(

  13. Marketteh says:

Departure of one of The Greats. Left some performances to move the very soul. Played some parts STILL being analyzed. Who was like him? NO one. Who is like him? No one.

  14. Marketteh says:

Okay, I miss Richard Burton too, but he’s been gone longer.

  15. wickedwitch says:

Yes, I am going to miss him. They don’t make them like that often enough. My hero…

  16. LhasaLady says:

Sorry but Richard Burton cound not hold a candle to Paul Newman. The world was so lucky to have had him for 82 years. He had no equal as a man, a husband and father, a humanitarian, nan actor or a man of courage ……. driving race cars until the age of 80. WOW !!! And he never let his handsome face obscure a beautiful soul.

  17. Scot Z says:

Somebody up there likes him… many down here will miss him. R.I.P., Paul.

  18. jon k says:

Don’t ever post but Mr. Newman is too good to die. I hope we all carry him with us for the rest of our lives.

  19. barboid says:

He was so damn COOL! Do you guys know that they just celebrated 50 years of marriage? A rarity indeed. He will be missed, but he has passed on some wonderful legacies to all of us. May God Bless his family and all who mourn him.

  20. Wilko says:

Its sad if a loved celebrity dies but there is no reason to post a generous memorial on a humor site

  21. KlausterFook says:

I’m getting tired, tired because all of a sudden there be 10 consecutive Paul Newman pictures in the upcoming section, we get it, he WAS good, but now, he’s dead. And no amount of “hyperbolic statements of his goodness” will ever…. EVER make him what you say he is.

    • inked_hippie says:

yeah, cuz all the comments about his amazing charity were all lies to make him look good. you’re totally right…he was a complete douche.

      /sarcasm

      jackass

  22. Anne Nona Myss says:

    He was so hot…and talent.

    • lora_vine says:

      I second the hotness statement!!!

      • Be says:

Gosh…I third it. How many fifty/sixty/seventy plus actors could be as hot as he was?

        • Rainey Day says:

Yes!! he was totally hot (melts thinking of those blue eyes)and I can nommminate another actor for hotness after fifty. Sam Elliott!!( to quote my sister” I don’t even need to see his face, just let me hear that voice.”) Paul was my Mom’s favorite actor. She died before he started his charity work and I know she would have been pleased that he was that kind of a person. May peace be with his family and all who were blessed enough to really know him.

  23. someone says:

    farewell …

a great man has passed away. realy nice picture by the way.

and to all those “why do you post it on a humor site”-blablabla guys. paul newman was known for his good sense of humor.

  24. Mabel Iam says:

  25. He will be missed. A great man, and a great actor.
My all time favorite Paul Newman films: “Cat on a

Farwell Paul. Thank you for being a star whose values were and still are worth emulating. The world will be a sadder place without you in it. I’m sure God himself was at the Pearly Gates to welcome you.

  31. Just Jo says:

    RIP, “Butch”….. =(

  32. Lelo says:
