  2. Sjatko says:

Yeah! He pwns. You should really watch Michael Jackson’s “Beat it”, and then his “Eat It”. Just plain funny.

  3. Marketteh says:

Al, I’ll work cheaper than “Bermuda” Schwartz. Call me.

    • Sjarko says:

      OMFG HE HAZ GOD MUVEES?
Name them please? He is hands down the second best there is, if you ask me, I didn’t know he had movies!

      • The L says:

UHF is the first one that comes to mind.

        • markmier says:

First and only, I believe. Also one of Michael Richards (Kramer of Seinfeld) very early (and awsum!) roles.

          • California Dave says:

            And Fran Drescher.

I met Al in 1981 when I was just a young twerp and his first album had been released. Al and all the guys in the bad were really nice to the high school geek, and I got all their autographs on a bio sheet for Al.

Fast-forward a few years to an Al concert at the Greek Theatre in LA. After the show, I slipped around to the stage door (me and a bunch of others). Bermuda came out and recognizes me! He couldn’t get me backstage, but said he’d tell Al I said hello.

These guys are truly teh awesome – and not just because of the tunes!

          • Jackadoo says:

Yes but there is also a TV show. I believe it’s on DVD now.

  5. HewwoKitteh112 says:

I DOEZ IT!! IZ ON DA FRONT PAGE!!! **sniff sniff** I’d like to tank all da kittehs who voted, and especially, I tank WEIRD AL for being…well, just for BEING. I couldn’t haz dun it witout him!!

  6. Just jumpin says:

Weird Al = 1 step down from god.
    Yeah, I said it.

  7. Scot Z says:

You really gotta hand it to Weird Al. He’s enjoyed a longer career than almost anybody whose songs he’s parodied.

  8. Marketteh says:

Srsly, what drummer wouldn’t play back-up for him? From “My Bologna” to parodies of songs I never heard, the world NEEDS Weird Al.

  9. Koki Kariya says:

Why does Sigorney Weaver have a mustache?

    • TexRPC says:

Looks more like Bernadette Peters than Sigourney Weaver… but Weird Al is still cool. :)

    • Grrr Power says:

      Damn you!
I was about to wade in there with a Cher comment…. :P

    • dweezer says:

At the end of his live concert DVD, taking applause and giving props to the band, Al *TOTALLY* looks like Sigorney Weaver. Her BROTHER, I mean.

Just to head off the questions, yes he does have a live concert DVD and don’t even bother with Netflix, just BUY IT. Complete awesomesauce.

  10. Zushi says:

I have to be honest, I love Weird Al and I think he’s highly underrated. I’ve never listensed to any of his songs without laughing my ass off. He should be a full time character on The Simpsons instead of just having those cameos.

  11. ubermann says:

a man who is tired of weird al is a man who is tired of life

  12. hergieburbur says:

Thinking back to when “Beat It” and “Eat It” came out, who would have thought that in 2008, Yankovic would still be relevant while Jackson is the total joke?

  13. caylees says:

dis pichurz falls convenuntly under the previous…. They see me rollin’ they hatin’ …. trying to catch him white n nerdy!

  14. spacealien says:

My dad went to college with him!

  15. Blu says:

His “interviews” with various recording artists (especially Eminem), they crack me up every time.

Oh and listen to the song Hardware Store, from his CD Poodle Hat… the part where he lists EVERY item the store sells will blow your frickin’ mind!!

  16. drb says:

“Oh, this is a story ’bout a guy named Al
And he lived in a sewer with his hamster pal
But the sanitation workers really didn’t approve
So he packed up his accordion and had to move
To a city in Ohio where he lived in a tree
And he worked in a nasal decongestant factory
And he played on the company bowling team
And every single night he had a strange recurring dream
Where he was wearing lederhosen in a vat of sour cream
But that’s really not important to the story.”

    • Stevie W says:

That is not Al’s first song dealing with the Beverly Hillbillies theme. Imagine Dire Straits tune ‘Money for Nothing’ …. Mark Knopfler’s guitar … with these words ….
      Huh, now lookie here people
      Listen to my story
A little story ’bout a man named Jed
      You know something?
      That poor mountaineer
They say he barely kept his family fed
      Now, let me tell you
      One day he was shootin’
Old Jed was shootin’ at some food
When all of a sudden right up from the ground, there
Well, there came a bubblin’ crude
Oil that is Well, maybe you call it black gold or Texas tea
He gonna move next to Mr. Drysdale And be a Beverly hillbilly…
Before you know it, all the kinfolk are-a-sayin’
Yeah, buddie, move away from there
That little Clampet got his own cement pond
That little Clampet, he’s a millionaire

      Now, everyone said Californie
Is the place that you oughta be
We got to load up this here truck now
We got to move to Beverly
      Hills, that is
      Swimming pools
      Move-a-move-a-movie stars
      Huh Lookit that, lookit that
      Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
      Y’all come back now, y’hear?
      Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
      Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
      Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies

      • drb says:

That is not Al’s first song dealing with the Beverly Hillbillies theme.

Um, what I quoted was part of the lyrics of the Weird Al Show theme, nothing to do with Beverly Hillbillies.

Mind you, the Beverly Hillbillies one that you quoted is awesome, especially Al’s video if you compare it to the Dire Straits original.

By the way, Weird Al also directed the music video “Mixed Up S.O.B.” for the band The Presidents Of The United States Of America. You can find it on YouTube and such. I just find it cool that other artists are recognizing his talents beyond just his ability to parody.

  17. Apathygrrl says:

I <3 Weird Al. He is my hero.

  18. Shegufta says:

  22. IzzyBella says:

My cousin met him once. I was wowed.

  23. Oscar says:

    He’s my hero!!

  24. solo piano says:

weird al, a legend and a very strange guy.

  25. nopants4u says:

Weird Al’s the only man on earth that could make me laugh so hard I would almost crap my pants!

  26. mrneccos says:

Wierd Al is a genius…when a man can make a parody of a song and make it better than the original, that, my friends, is an act of comedic genius!!! (BTW, UHF is on my list of one of the greatest comedies ever made.)

  27. Indeed. says:

“Al Yankovic is a modern rock genius.”

    - – Kurt Colbain

  28. bajio6401 says:

I was such a fan of Al’s that I bought the first album even though I didn’t own a record player at the time. Had to go to friend’s homes to listen to it!!!
