If Dorothy thinks THAT’S trippy, try watching the movie with Dark Side of the Moon!

Oy, if only that were true, and Judy Garland really had stayed away from the drugs. RIP Judy.

Has anyone read ALL of the books? There’s like, 15 of them. dorothy returns to Oz many, many times and eventually ends up staying there.

Musta been an atomic buttload of acid for all that :P

SOMEONE WAS USING DRUGS TO MAKE THAT MOVIE.

  9. Tempestates says:

Now that I think about it, I think you’re right

  10. Mike says:

You could look at it that way if you want. But that’s not what was intended at all. Think about it. This movie was made in the late 30′s. A drug reference would have been purely unacceptable, especially for a children’s movie. On top of that, if you read the book you’d know it wasn’t a drug reference. The book had the poppies put them to sleep but it was a bunch of mice carry them all off the field. Stressing the popular children’s tale of the relationship between weak mice and the huge lion. Metro not only couldn’t pull this off, but was far too over budget to do so.

It was just an attempt at relating the movie to the book. A connection that ended up sorely lacking.
