Again, for the last time. I did not know HP had dyslexia. I assumed he was just being lazy or trying to act like so many thuggish type do on the net now. Yes I made the improper assumption based on very little information and for that I am wrong. However, you have to admit a lot of people today just don’t give a darn if they write correctly or not. That doesn’t remove my blame but it just shows where I was coming from.

Agreed, well mostly then.
I agree with you that employers unfortunaly still judge people by spelling, and they’re wrong to do so.
And I also agree that intelligence isn’t 1 single definable thing, but I believe that it could be divided up into even more then 8 parts, “maths” could even be split up in geometry, algebra, logaritmics and umh.. other stuff.

Take for example Einstein, his math skills weren’t all that great, he was a great physicist though, but he actually had someone else do/check the math part for him most of the time.

Now you might be wondering why i’m posting all this useless extra information to a ~2 month old post…. The answer is simple; I’m bored. ^^

Actually, no HP has it right. Spelling and grammar is not the only thing about intelligence. I am actually learning about this in school right now. There are actually 8 or so different kinds of intelligence, and yes, this does include reading and writing (verbal, as my professor calls it), but there are other forms of intelligence as well. These include areas like math, art, music, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Bringing up Einstein was a good example. Einstein wasn’t so hot at verbal intelligence, but look at him, he was the best mathematician of our time. Unfortunately enough though, John is right. Employers haven’t really caught on to this, so it does help to read and write properly. Don’t get me wrong HP, I’m not saying that it’s your fault that you can’t. I understand perfectly the conditions of dyslexia. However, that doesn’t stop the previous statement from being any less true.
