My friend and I were out somewhere doing a bit of shopping, and there were some scientologists collecting money and recruiting people. So my friend goes up to them and tells them that their religion doesn’t make sense and they’re practically beggers, and points out what’s wrong with their religion. He’s there arguing with them for a couple of minutes, and there’s a small crowd around them. After he’s finished, he just walks away. They don’t know his name, phone number, or anything, the only way they could identify him is by his face.

Here’s the scary thing. A couple of months later, he gets a knock at his door pretty late at night. There’s two scientologists there, and they give him an A4 book, about 200 pages thick. They tell him to never mock scientology again, and then they leave. He opens the book and it’s filled with photos of him going about his daily life (driving to work, entering/exiting his house, eating out at a restaurant, on the bus, at the cinema, etc.) and it’s got all his contact details, and it had a list of the schools he went to as a kid and all of the places he’s ever worked. It also had about 20 pages of pictures of his family, along with their names and other details about them.

Scary, huh?

There are only cosmetic differences between John’s situation and the crazy christian nutjobs who let their daughter die of a COMPLETELY TREATABLE urinary tract infection because they “don’t believe” in modern medicine.

Anyway, COS is a pseudo-religion, pseudo-science scam.

Kawasaki disease is not what killed him, BTW. Look up the disease. Many in the medical community are convinced Jett didn’t have it–except until age five, perhaps. However, if you have a seizure and hit your head on a tub or sink, that can be fatal. The first seizure my son had when he was seven, he was sitting on a school bus, went rigid and went head-first onto the floor. I got to witness the whole thing. A couple years ago when he was 17, he had a grand mal, hit the coffee table and then proceeded to turn blue. Each time there is seizure activity it leaves scar tissue on the brain. This is not something to trifle with. I hope for the Travoltas’ consciences’ sakes, they did everything they could to keep Jett alive.

That kinda brings me closer to a church, really. A bunch of old guys sitting around watching what they can make their poor flock do by (sometimes literally) selling them utter bs.
