Most overrated Pixar ever. The romance was too slow to develop. Yes, I wanted a change from the “stick-it-in-your-face” pace of Shrek-type movies and their over-obvious jokes (though Shrek is funny), but IMO, it took too long to get there. Wall-E wheels around, cleans up our sh&t. We get it. Then the romance didn’t have enough screen time. And then there had to be a Michael-Moorish thing of…OBESE PEOPLE IN PODS ON A NEW PLANET, watching TV all day and being served food? And a George W. Bush-ian screw up? Come ON. Fail, Pixar, fail. Just save the planet and leave out politics, K?
I actually enjoyed Wall-E, but then I’m a silent movie fan so all that nothing at the beginning didn’t bother me.
I TOTALLY agree with your take on the political thing–it was totally unnecessary. It’s like they had a moment where they say “Okay guys, the ambience is over. Start thinking,” only the thinking was narrow-minded.
Wow… cry some more please? It’s an animated movie for pete’s sake…. get over yourself and enjoy it instead of nit-picking it apart.
Yeah… when you go to movies there’s this thing called “suspension of disbelief”.
Use it when you see movies, it will help you to enjoy them more.

And yasoup up there, you’re a twit. The movie was an ingenious social commentary with a little bit of romance. The romance started quite early on, you are just too dull to keep up with a movie that does not utilise the spoken word in the first .02 nanoseconds.
As a testimony to your intellect, they were not on a new planet; they were on a spaceship.
In defense of Yasoup, what he said does not make him a twit. When a movie beats you over the head with social commentary it’s okay to be peeved. Had it been a LITTLE more subtle it wouldn’t be so perturbing.
So their idea of subtlety was adding a race of humans who destroyed their planet, so they go to a new planet, sit in pods all that, become obese, have food served to them, and have their trash carted off (on the last part, I’m not sure if I remember correctly). And the commander character, or whoever he was, is a character obviously designed after George W. Bush or Republican screw-ups in general. Then there’s the TV’s talking about how “oh, our trash will be gone soon! Then we can return!” REEEEALLLY subtle. It was subtle for a while. Wall-E went around and cleaned up the planet, interacted with EVA, it was sweet…I’m entitled to my opinion, but it seems when someone speaks ‘against’ a block-buster (take Twilight or E.T. for random examples) everyone gets up in arms….
And yes, I forgot a detail of the movie. I forgot about the spaceship–whose design was obviously ripped off of the space ship in Star Trek, Next Generation!
I haven’t seen twilight and don’t plan to. The commercials suck, I can only imagine the movie would be worse.
I love wall*e because he is the cutest little robot ever. And the sweetest. And I found the social commentary to be humourous and appropriate.
trust me, the movie isn’t worth your time. The only good part was the vampire fight. the rest was edward and bella staring at each other.

Just wow… the movie was about POLLUTION and how we should stop POLLUTING our planet or there won’t be any planet left for us. Why does every republican have to turn something as simple as a movie about cleaning up our planet into a big political battle?
Keep polluting, you will lose the planet. Didn’t seem like that complicated of a message to me. Sounds like you need to step back from your little podium and calm down a little.

Very true! He had obviously grown beyond his original directive as shown by his collection of stuff and his bug friend. Wall*E also helped others to grow beyond their “directives” as well. I enjoyed the movie and didn’t mind the lack of subtlety. After all, subtlety has worked so well.

wall-e was a great movie. but there were no laptops in that movie. in fact, in the super future, everyone has a computer chip in their head that works much better.
Wall-E was an amazing film for me, mainly because i was sick of comedy/romance and action flicks where cheap one-liners and insincere dialogue cluttered the movie.
Wall-E on the other hand, had very few characters that talked regularly. But despite the lack of dialogue, you always knew what the characters were thinking…
