HAHA! I got it first
These are the nicest and the most intelligent responses I have EVER seen to any AOL post. Of course felt folks of the Henson ilk do have that effect on folks…
the second? xD
Third!
Omigosh, so true!
No man, it’s Popeye and Olive Oyl. They were engaged for 72 years
On that note, what about Mickey and Minnie?
It doesn’t count if your not getting any.
I think next year is Dagwood and Blondie’s 80th anniversary. ::boggle::
They were married in 1933.
I thought they got divorced.
That was Ken and Barbie.
Yah, Barbie left Ken for J.I. Joe!!!
G.I joe…
*dances at his first troll comment*
Breaking News 2 – ROFLrazzi populated by not really funny captions!
plus they really werent together…she tried oh lord she tried but it was only during the muppet caper when they had an actual “relationship”…cute but fail…popeye and olive oyl were also kinda on again off again because during the early cartoons popeye AND bluto were vying for olives attention…but i would vote them as longest lived couple over mickey and minnie because olive first appeared in the comic strip in 1919 and minnie first appeared onscreen 1928…technically olive didnt appear until 1929 onscreen…let the debate begin
I have a feeling you and I would get along frighteningly well. I bet you even know who Ham Gravy is.
You’re forgetting the Muppets Take Manhattan when Kermit and Miss Piggy get married. Plus, the entire muppet show where they’re definitely an item. I’m voting for mickey and minnie as the longest though, since they’re not on again off again like olive oyl and popeye.
I’m going to agree with everyone and say that Kermy never really returned MP’s affections, unless you count “Christmas Carol”, where they were married as the Crachits. The girls were pigs and the boys were frogs, doubtlessly to avoid awkward questions about cross-species (cross-class!) breeding.
Then again, in “The Muppets Take Manhattan”, the gang did a musical about somebody getting married, and Kermit and Miss Piggy played the bride and groom. Miss Piggy hired a REAL preacher, apparently a very important one, and they said “I do.” It was in the script, but in the presence of a real preacher, one really has to wonder.
Nice try. What about George and Gracie?
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, 50th anniversary was last year. THAT is what two people in love look like. ::sniffle::
Kermit and Piggie now are semi-retired, touring the world hot spots with their children, like Branjolina
Ah well, it’s entertainment news, so not necessarily on close terms with the truth
BTW, forge: so true! It was great to see a Hollywood couple together and in love for so long. Would that I were that lucky
Its just a funny comment people! Its not something to get all serious about. Darksouldealer, perhaps you have too much time on your hands… just a thought.
…. “let the debate began”….
that and i am a chasm of useless information
How about Homer and Marge Simpson? I know they don’t stack up to some other names mentioned here, but I wanted to know how long their “couple” status has lasted.
Apparently all the spelling/grammar nazis troll the LOLcats but not here.
Officially? anyone?
Actually, they DID marry for real in Muppets Take Manhattan. Unfortunately, it was reported (I remember reading it – not sure of the source, though) that they seperated not long after Jim Henson’s death because they were “no longer speaking.”
wow that sounds about right except they are puppets!
What!? Mickey and Minnie, still together after 80-something years! (Yet still not married?)
