This is the curtain call from Oedipus at the National Theatre in London. He gets blinded in the second act and they really did a good job. He looked liked he stabbed his eyes out and the blood was there for the rest of the show. He didn’t get a new shirt for the curtain call

the version of Sweeney Todd i saw had all the actors wearing blood covered clothes once they were killed (in this version, all the actors were also the orchestra, so they still had to be on stage in play the instruments)

dripping off them and SINGING! The only thing that would have made it more
perfect would have been Mrs. Lovett crawling back out of the oven to take her bow…
