  1. Whut? says:

Yep. Because machines look cooler with teeth!

    • Matt says:

maybe they pick a tooth out of every person they’ve killed, and put it in their bodywork, to show others somethink like: “Hey guys, I’ve killed 28 people” (or so.)
      lol

but yeah, they look a lot better with the teeth… or else they would look like old grannies without their teeth xD

      • Whut? says:

What would they do if they killed someone with false teeth? Have 2 sets?

“Ohai gaiz, dont mind my extra jawbone, it’s just for the lulz!”

        • The F*cking Batman says:

Caption fail, the teeth are for eating delicious human babies after they pummel them into the ground.

  2. Clara says:

    Never thought of it that way… I guess I would figure that if they were intended to have a human skin like Arnold in the first movie, maybe the teeth are so they can blend in better? ^.^;;;

Or maybe they’re just that evil.. who knows.

  3. Setagana says:

    Psychological warfare maybe?

  4. Chewbacca314 says:

All the better to nom you with, my dear.

  5. dahumanz says:

Because with human skin it wouldnt look realistic.

Pic shall go to fail blog

    • bunnyrut says:

concurred. have they seen the movies?

    • heruyan says:

exactly, it all depends on what the purpose is.

teeth aren’t inefficient if they’re designed to emulate us.
and the previous comment about psychological warfare isn’t bad either :P

  6. toaster says:

are republicans realy all inhuman killingmachines? well, the picture speaks for itself

revote Arnie/Skynet 2027. everyone who votes for john connor can kiss my shiny metal ass

  7. Skynet says:

Yes we do have a toothless model to resemble and infiltrate older humanoid groups. Please contact your local Skynet sales representative for specific models and details for your area.

  8. vcc says:

    FAIL!
Machines have to be user friendly.
Which is why most of the robots have body features similar to humans.

    • Jeff says:

“user friendly” = Silver skull with red glowing eyes?
      Really?

    • dolt says:

you know, i don’t really think a super-computer intentr on world domination really cares about user-friendlyness, i mean look at vista

    • Forge says:

?????? “User-friendly???” These are designed for one specific purpose – to walk into areas the tanks and planes can’t reach, and kill the f*ck out of everything that’s alive. There is no “user-friendly.”

They have teeth because this is the model they grow skin over and send in looking like a human until it pulls out a pulse rifle and killinates everybody, and even if they don’t skin all of them, they don’t bother with having a different model for the skinless ones, because they’re machines and they’re efficient like that.

  9. Durendal says:

Do they NEED to rebel and terminate humanity?

    These things just happen.

    • igloomccoy says:

Need to terminate? Well, it kinda is in the job title.

      • NoOneInteresting says:

Well, they don’t NEED to. Nothing says they have to continue being terminators. They could quit and become exterminators.

      • Delta Sierra says:

What happened actually is that, since they’re from the future, they knew Ahnold would be elected governator. So they named them terminators. Got that, California voters? Not TERMSinator. TERMinator. Just the one term.

  10. gazutd says:

Do you need a brain to make or vote for a caption these days? Apparently not.

  11. jaug1337 says:

Well since they were infractured with “human-skin” it was needed to look like a human, like a spy. So .. :)

  12. factory says:

Do they use an iron toothbrush? For an ultrabrite smile

  13. Datan0de says:

Has whoever posted this pic actually seen the Terminator movies?

Okay, here’s the score: In 2027 (in the future shown in T1/T2), Skynet’s front line infantry unit is the T-800. The T-800 also serves as the chassis for the infiltrators (Arnie, etc.). The infiltrators obviously need teeth, else they’ll be pretty easy to spot.

The “footsoldier” T-800′s don’t need teeth, but presumably the resource cost to provide them with teeth is trivial compared to the cost to construct/maintain/defend a separate factory just to produce toothless endoskulls. Why bother?

This also provides the additional advantage that if Skynet needs to construct an infiltrator in a hurry, it can use any T-800 that’s walking around as the chassis without any modification needed. Just grow the flesh around it, load any additional software that may be required, and go.

  14. Datan0de says:

Also, +1 fail point for misspelling “inefficient”.

  15. wvgirl says:

So here’s my question: How is it that when they look like humans, their teeth are white, but when they have no skin, they’re the same silver as the rest of the skeleton? Do they get an enamel coating along with the human skin?

  16. RFever says:

They have teeth to help designee them as humans. you know when they go back in time to kill people and they need to blend in with a crowd.

    • Forge says:

Not back in time; they used skin-covered T800s to infiltrate human hideouts and terminate everyone therein. Or will have used. Or will use. Or ::head explodes trying to figure out temporal grammar::

  17. GigiAbzynth says:

i wouldn’t say it’s inefficient, if anything teeth on a robot is over efficient. Redundant, maybe as it doesn’t really need them for anything other than blending in.

    • bionelly says:

Which means it is inefficient, because they are using up resources to make something that they don’t really need for anything other than blending in. Anything they have that they don’t need is inefficient, pretty much by definition.

    • dolt says:

inefficient is such a boring word, i’m starting tgo think the caotioner was borg

  18. peter says:

What’s really inefficient is creating an army of robots to wipe out humanity, when all you need to do is flood the atmosphere with some sort of poison, or create a highly contagious and deadly disease to do it for you.

    • J says:

Or use nukes… wait no it did that. This is just the cleanup crew to get those pesky ones that avoid the mass extermination.

  19. CavsWin says:

So thats what the tooth fairy does with childrens teeth…

  20. dR dMo says:

Of course, the real question is..why do WE have teeth? Didn’t God know his creation was going to be a sucker for sugary treats?

    It’s over, God-theory. You’re out of here.

  21. Delta Sierra says:

Hardly necessary, with all these fanboys around.

  22. PoodleGroomer says:

When the robots took over the union, they kept the same contract and it had an unbelievable dental plan.

  23. chase says:

No they don’t need teeth…they also don’t need to have the same body structure as a human, however if your going to make a robot that does look human…teeth fit.

  24. squeehunter says:

Have you not actually seen the Terminator or something?

“The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human… sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait till he moved on you before I could zero on him.”

These guys walking aren’t being used as infiltrators at the moment but you might as well make them all with teeth.

  25. mmiied says:

if you are going to build a huminoid killing meachine army I say do it with style and if you then need ot send them back to the future then it is easer

  26. cyborgexplained says:

Cyborgs couldn’t pass as humans without teeth… well maybe really old or homeless humans… which would make it easier for them to blend into crowds…

Does anyone have the number for Skynet or the US Patent Office??

  27. I like how everyone’s arguing about whether they should/shouldn’t have teeth while they overlook the fact that this picture has no comedy value whatsoever.

  28. Neg says:

This is what Arnie was without the skin overtop. They do need the teeth, because it makes them look more human when they do have the skin, hair, etc.

  29. J says:

I vote scary psy ops. Also, its pretty impressive that a movie so old has held up so well with their designs. This thing still looks like a badass scary killing machine today.

  30. rottinghead says:

    have you even seen Terminator?

They’re made to look human and have the possibility of being disguised as one, and they wouldn’t look very human without teeth would they?

  31. Zahid says:

hahaha…nice pick…waste of resources by the way….if they don’t need something why waste resources and time installing it… ??

  32. LOL says:

ITS A GOD DAMN FILM. IT DOESNT HAVE TO MAKE SENSE!!!!!one!eleven

  33. dScof says:

skynet probably designed them that way for maximum terror impact on humans.

  34. Because they use the robots to imitate humans? Teeth are sort of a requirement.

  35. Ben says:

Seriously?! Why would you ask such a stupid question. The terminator robots were created to look as human as possible. They have the basic human skeletol structure with robotic muscles under a layer of synthetic skin. The picture above is of a robot without skin…. he still has his teeth of course because that’s part of the skeletol structure. The school systems really has completely destroyed the average IQ.

  36. COlin says:

why do they even need faces i wouldnt put faces on my machine army

  37. Hati says:

Actually, they have teeth because this particular model is also used in the t800 model, which needs to pretend its a human beeing, so teeth is a good plan realistically

  38. Grey says:

You’re right, they really don’t need teeth.

But as this is the exact same model used to emulate humans when coated in flesh, it actually is more efficient to mass produce them all with teeth, instead of only putting teeth in some.

Captioner fails to understand assembly line technology. The robots have already surpassed him. lol

  39. Kevin says:

This is yet another stupid joke. It makes perfect sense for them to have teeth…and there’s nothing inherently efficient or inefficient about teeth… Not even a nice try, and fail.

  40. Murbay says:

Ben has the closest answer. Cameron once said in an interview that Terminator was created out of a dream he had about metalic robots with human skeletons rising out of a fire. As their design is based on human skeletons then by unless they had poor dental hygiene or from some poor European country, they would have teeth.

Cameron also said that OJ Simpson was cast as the original terminator ahead of Arnie long before he allegedly became a real terminator.

  41. metheon says:

What i find most intresting is that almost everyone says the exact same thing in their comments. I wonder if this is because they just dont read other peoples comments pefore posting their own, or is i because they didn’t know the answer rread it in other peoples comments and felt they had to write the same thing to prove they aren’t morons.

  42. Bada says:

So what? I don’t NEED chandeliers in my house, but I have them anyway. I don’t NEED to have some things that I have. It’s a matter of desing.
Maybe them robots want to look scary. And they do it well akshully.

  43. Hakenkat says:

he has to look humanoid. hurr durr.

  44. uh huh says:

its for when they have the skin on ‘em
