Read the graphic novel. Then we will talk about badassery.

  7. Bassanova says:

Yes, win. But, can he bring a knife to a Chuck Norris fight and win?

  8. Bix nood says:

The GN was better. He seemed more crazy.

  9. Amazing…I loved V, I love BadAssery! I will blog about masks at StuffRichPeopleLove.com to honour him!

  10. Ignatz says:

I enjoyed them both, for different reasons. The GN was more involved and complex, but I didn’t agree with Alan Moore’s ideas about societal anarchy. I also preferred the movie’s treatment of Evie. (the little nods to Benny Hill were a good touch as well.) And Hugo Weaving is definitely badass; it’s really difficult to act through an expressionless mask.

    • DaYaoiFan says:

I read the GN, but I never saw the movie. Would you recommend it to someone who’s a little to fussy about sticking to the original work?

      • Adamas says:

Oh yeah! Not the best movie in the world, but quite enjoyable. And manages to do justice to the GN in my view. (Which is a lot better then some have done)

        • paws4thot says:

Seconded. I’d say the worst bit was the “V monologue” to Evie, where the Washawskis prove that they’re actually no more clever than Alan Moore.

I’m not claiming that I am more clever than they are; just that I’m clever enough to know that I’m not more clever than Alan, and they obvously aren’t.

  11. toast says:

just the word “badassery” is an ultimate WIN in my book.

    Yes!

  13. H3xx says:

No, What you have are bullets. And the hope that, when your guns are empty, I’ll be dead, because if I’m still standing, you all will be dead before before you’ve reloaded.

  14. Eric says:

I kill you with my weakest attack.

  15. Rohvannyn says:

    Oh So True…

  17. AwesomeAwesomeAwesome!!! says:

This is the biggest win ever – you sir have got my background for at least a week.

  18. kosher ham says:

Another sign of badassery: having that haircut and never once having your heterosexuality questioned!

  19. Ace says:

I feel like a character who prides himself so greatly on his vocabulary would be completely ashamed of the word “BADASSERY” being used to describe him.

    • Not My Problem says:

Not if it’s followed by a string of other words that begin with the same letter.

      • pyromaniac says:

Hahaha… “Not My Problem”, how’s this: “Boldly bashes, burns, barricades, bombards butthead bureaucrats but bravely brings bright breakthrough, breaking bourgeoisie’s’ bondage burden .”

  20. Hapless hope says:

so true and yet it fits unquestionably!

  21. Laura says:

I think this can also go the other way– bringing a gun to a sword fight, and winning. Raiders of the Lost Ark ftw! :D

  22. harrisce says:

Hugo Weaving as V = Incredible.

V for Vendetta – Horrible. Just….horrible. Did the book no justice.
