Embarrassing lack of originality aside, am I the only one who doesn’t think that 5’7 is particularly short? I mean, sure, he’s no giant, but he towers over me.
It’s not that short, just shorter than some men and short by Hollywood standards. I’m guessing the captioner and most of the people who voted this through aren’t perfect human specimens themselves, they just don’t like Tom Cruise, so they approve of anything making fun of him.
Yeah. He’s like two inches taller than me, and I’m relatively tall compared to the people I hang out with.

5’7″ isn’t all that short. It is just a little less than the average height for an adult man in the US (5’8″). So what’s with all these jokes that make him out to be a Hobbit?
Tom Cruise is MY height…And I’m 14 and a half years old and female….That’s actually kinda sad that he has the Short Genes.
Well, he can be thankful for two reasons that he’s not Michael J Fox: (Who I am NOT making fun of, BTW) MJF is 5’5″, and MJF has Parkinson’s Disease.

All these jokes started after a picture of him next to Katie Holmes surfaced, in which she towered over him. She’s 2 inches taller by default, and in the picture she was wearing high heals, and she was standing on a street curb while he wasn’t.
