He’s actually known for being friendly towards fans. The premier for the last Pirates movie was held at Disneyland, and he held things up by spending two hours signing autographs and talking to fans.
thats class, seriosuly i have much respect for people who are good to their fans.
I don’t know if it’s still happening, but for a while you could mail stuff to his agent and Depp would sign it and send it back. You had to pay the shipping both ways of course, but I appreciate a celebrity who spends the time to see what their fans say about them and doesn’t ask for anything in return. Not just the critics everyone looks at, but the average people.
He is more than welcome to spend two hours or more being friendly toward me

Can mean a number of things:
1. The author did not think out grammar fully
2. The author does not consider children equals (before the law, or just vis-a-vis adults is unclear)
3. The author does not consider “little” people to be equals to us giants. I have a number of Dwarves that would take issue with this.
4. Johnny Depp is a decent dude, that respects children.
#4 is the clearly the intended message, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to be an ass.

Clarification on the little girl. She was 3 years old at the time of the “Priem’ear’ at the Park. Her name is Evie.
Her Mom was not too afraid to get the autograph… Evie went passed the security line to the velvet rope to get this autograph. Security kept the adults in the group back from the rope. The adults in question were the Annaheim chapter of the NFFC. (National Fantasy Fun Club {www.nffc.org})
Evie also had her picture taken with Cloris Leachman, Daryl Hannah, John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and several other celebs that day.
The 4-5 second video clip of Evie’s encounter with Johnny has been in almost every biographical feature about J. Depp, since July ’03. Probably due to the “cuteness” of the shot.
I certainly think it’s cute, I’m Evie’s Dad. Evie still remembers that day very fondly. While I’m not a huge fan of Johnny Depp (I think he’s a good actor), my wife and daughter are amongst his biggest fans!
After the kindness he showed Evie that day, I do respect greatly as a person and a fellow “Dad”. Happy Father’s Day, Johnny!

Actually Izzy, due to Evie’s mother’s infatuation with Mr. Depp, she knew who Johnny was WAY before the premier. Lol! And Johnny wasn’t signing a program, it was the real movie poster. We still have it hanging in the house. The poster has the signature of Depp, Bloom, Knightly and (I think) Rush. Lastly, Evie wasn’t grumpy, just a little “overawed”. And yes, (I’m straight) Depp is a “cutey”. Lol
I can’t work out my feelings toward that guy… with every role you forget he looks like a general sleezeball in real life, but he has so many different looks and a great talent for acting.
With his Willy Wonka role, I got him confused with Michael Jackson when that movie came out.

You read some of his biography and realise what a genuinely awesome guy he is. He’s one of my favorite celebrities, not just because of his talent as an actor, but also because of how he manages his fame and fortune.
