    R.I.P. :(

  2. Cass says:

RIP… all contributed so much to this world.

    • Realist says:

Awwwe. We lost a child molester. Whatever will we do now? The entertainment world will surely come to an end.
But on a brighter note- he did pay the families well for the use of their children. So I guess that nullifies what he did and now only his music is of concern.

      • Paz says:

        I hope Realist dies.

        • Realist says:

I will someday. And none of you will even know when it happens. You will someday. And none of MJs family will jump online to “respect” you. Simply because they do not know you.
Just as you do not know MJ or his family. Therefore you have lost nothing today.

          • Puddi says:

No more playin’ with GameBoys, if you know what I mean.

            • Rohvannyn says:

I consider Michael Jackson’s death to be a mercy. A mercy for the injured families who now know he can never hurt them again, and also for the sad, confused man who was so far from reality he barely knew what it looked like.

              • Pickles says:

                “So he bleached his skin.”

                No, he didn’t.

                The more you know~~~

                • reggi_reject says:

                  oh. Proven wrong. Apologies x

either way, that would be something that’d wouldve added to the self conscienceness, thus adding to the mental unstablity x

                  • Pickles says:

                    Apology accepted :-)

There’s no doubt in my mind that Vitiligo contributed to his personal problems. I’ve seen the effects for myself, which is pretty much why I get so annoyed that the whole “bleached his skin” nonsence is so often treated as fact. Sorry if I sounded annoyed with you – you didn’t know.

                    • reggi_reject says:

This might make me sound dumb but I had absolutely no idea it existed, let alone he had it.

but no, it’s cool =) I didnt think you were annoyed or anything ’cause of the ~~~ adds a friendly feel :L
                      xx

                    • Naoyusimi says:

I’ve never seen a case of vitiligo where the pigmentation is so EVEN. I’ve always seen patchiness and spottiness. ALWAYS.

                      • Spinni says:

You don’t see it on MJ because of how thick his face makeup is because of it. Towards the end it was no longer a makeup issue because vitiligo was total.

                      • reggi_reject says:

spinni is right. My dad just told me he had a black friend that got vitiligo and hes almost entirely white now. not much patchiness yet

                      • G-Rod, the Rabbit says:

Well he actually did bleach his skin a little bit to hid the spottiness. But his skin was not completely bleached.

                      • reggi_reject says:

yeah thats kinda what we’re tryin to get at =)

:S even though it doesnt matter. he’s dead now. And e’ll forever be remembered as the king of pop, like elvis is remembered as being the king or…everything :L (of peanut butter jelly time!)

        • RenaissanceGrrl says:

Actually…he kinda has a point. That the man made good music is no excuse for what he (allegedly, but probably) did.

      • erich says:

keeping in mind that who we are today is not the product of our past achievements, mj is most certainly better (for the rest of us) in his final resting state than he was in the past 15 years.

he USED TO BE the greatest pop artist in the world. in the 10 years prior to death, he was a washed up, baby shaking, child molesting weirdo.

someone tell madonna to retire. and brett favre.

        • Uberwalrus says:

I just don’t see why people still claim he molested children. If my memory serves me right he was proven innocent and the whole lawsuit thingy was just works of some greedy people who did not care what it would do to Jackson.
He just happened to live in his own little world and see himself as a child and liked to play with kids(in a way that does not include anything sexual) due to his love for them and love for the innocence of the children.
He might have been something that normal people would call a freak but he wasn’t a monster.
          R.I.P. King of Pop

….He just happened to live in his own little world and see himself as a child and liked to play with kids(in a way that does not include anything sexual) due to his love for them and love for the innocence of the children…….

I know one of his childhood friends and she attested to his having this personality as a pre-adolescent. He used to hide out at her
home, bruised and distraught. She would take him hunting for insects and tree-climbing. He adored animals.

He used to annoy me…now I feel sadness for him, hope he’s in a less hurting place.

      • Randomly Annoyed says:

Please, do not speak ill of the dead. Focus on the music career, if you will.

        • Igloo McCoy says:

Just because someone’s dead doesn’t mean they can’t be criticized. I have a huge problem with you saying “he’s dead, so uh, stop claiming he molested kids, it’s no longer an issue.” Yeah, it is an issue, and if those children really were molested, it’ll continue to be an issue for the rest of their lives.
His music career was unbelievable, of course, but that doesn’t give him a free ride. Don’t trivialize his crimes just because of his talent.

  3. *sigh( says:

    rip, friends.

  4. Meow says:

    An awful day.

    R.I.P.

  5. torn2bits says:

any @$$#013 who has the nerve to “first” this post ought to be drawn and quartered, shot, and given to Cheney as a plaything…

May they all rest in eternal peace, find nirvana, or achieve the greatness to which they subscribe…

    *cries shamelessly*

  6. Noxx says:

Byebye… May the world be a better place without you.

    • i_am_#1 says:

      That’s cruel.

    • Skyshade13 says:

Cold as cold can be, Noxx.

    • matte101 says:

ok first of all, michael was a LEGEND! He will always be remembered! How dare you insult these people, who may I remind you DIED. I bet you sure wouldn’t like it if you died and ppl said that about you. I KNOW the world would be a better place with out ppl like YOU!

      • jvrs says:

i wouldn’t care because i didn’t know them and even if i did, I’M DEAD SO WHAT CAN I DO lol idiot.
i read about this crap this morning and i was like ‘michael jackson died. lol’

    • Realist says:

Finally- Someone who realizes that none of these people should be defined by their job, but by their actions in life. Oh how quickly we forget the awful things people do and idolize mere humans.

      • Realist says:

Who’s speaking ill? Honesty is never a lie. Right is never wrong. I simply don’t idolize people who are just that. Only humans.
When did lieing about people become a social grace? I did not know them. They did nothing for my life… or yours.
I hope people are honest about me before AND after I die. Good or bad.

        • get a grip says:

Neither is honesty considered always polite. There are times when refraining from speaking unpleasant truths is the gracious and kind thing to do. No one is asking that you lie, simply that you restrain yourself from being unpleasant.

          • G-Rod, the Rabbit says:

Sure they were merely people but you want to know something? These people contributed far more to this world than you who sit at your computer instigating sick lies about them. Michael Jackson gave more back to this world than you ever did. Sure the man was out of touch with reality but since when was that a bad thing? Some of the happiest people on the planet are completely insane. I pray that all 3 of these people, for their wonderful deeds, rest in eternal peace.

    • angie says:

yes bye you fckuing perv now go to hell. let the kids have a better life

    • Snickers says:

Noxx, just because YOU didnt like MJ, doesnt mean the rest of the world didnt like him!!you’re cold. You have no heart whatsoever alongwith the a$$h0le who decided to put “first!” on this. This isnt a LOL, its a “farewell card”.

  7. Eric-in-STL says:

It’s weird that they really do seem to come in 3′s.

    • Dave-in-Chico says:

Yes they do…that’s because we’re all connected and connections are clumpy and not evenly distributed….otherwise one celeb would die every 446.8 hours like clockwork…….this rule often applies to airplane crashes too.

  8. riatha82 says:

All have had a rough few years – I sincerely hope they have finally found peace. I won’t say I always agreed with MJs actions or beliefs (at all!), or that I always loved his music, but he did influence music hugely – from the Jackson 5 to Thriller…

  9. Alina says:

    The end of an era.

  10. Bgirl-in-KC says:

    or 7s. Hopefully 4 more won’t die.
I was a huge fan of MJ. I’ll be singing Billie Jean in his honor.

  11. Nerfherder says:

    R.I.P

  12. Inked_Hippie says:

It’s really sad. All three were such influential people in their own medium. They will be missed greatly by the world over. RIP

  13. Meh says:

Damn. I am suprisingly moved by Michael’s passing. He was young. And farrah and ed. Truly a sad time….

  14. Gir says:

    RIP All three.
As far as MJ goes, nobody should be saying “Thank god he is dead.” You have no proof that he ever did anything. People get accused of stuff that they did not do all the time. I am not saying he didn’t do it, I am just saying that none of us knows either way.
All three will be greatly missed

    • i_am_#1 says:

      Thank you gir! :)

    • Eric-in-STL says:

I sincerely hope nobody is saying that. Frankly, right now it doesn’t matter whether he did it or not. What matters is that an American icon has died, surprisingly young.

    • Charlene says:

You mean, except the poor innocent little kids he raped.

      Yes, THANK GOD

      • i_am_#1 says:

oh? you have proof that this happened?!

        • Realist says:

And you have no proof that it didn’t.
Why would an innocent man give thousands of dollars to a person if they accused him of rape? Would you?

          • dollar_bill says:

If I were rich and it would make them shut up? You betcha I would. What kind of parents chooses money over justice anyhow? If he was really guilty wouldn’t the parents want justice instead? IF he was in fact guilty, those parents basically slapped a price sticker on their kids.

          • jensalik says:

so you are above the law as “innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t count for you.

what an honor to be in presence of such a wise being…

      • depppaholic123 says:

You need to show a little class..or is it that you have none? You have NO PROOF whatsoever as to what the man did in his private life, good or bad.

Rest In Peace– Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Ed MacMahon… you all will be missed.

      • spyka says:

Most of this just proves that there are three things that you shouldn’t talk about in public. Religion, politics, and Michael Jackson.
I think that he made some brilliant music. RIP
        And RIP Farrah! Thank you!

    • happymomma says:

yeah, and OJ Simpson didn’t kill his ex and ron goldman.

GET A GRIP, an innocent person DOESN’T pay millions of dollars to people to keep quiet.

      • oneoffew says:

OJ didn’t kill his wife. All the evidence leads to that a drug deal went bad. And Michael Jackson is innocent. The people who took him to court were claiming it and trying to take money from an innocent man. May all Three of them rest in peace, and lets hope they are in a better place.

        • Scythelord says:

Wrong. OJ was the murderer. He was effectively found guilty in the civil trial, though he couldn’t get jail time for it due to the outcome of the murder trial. Then there are the multiple occasions on which OJ himself admitted it to various people.

        • Naoyusimi says:

::PFFH:: Have you ever seen a little film called, “Juror No. 5″?
          Guilty as hell.

“When she whines about the pesky inconveniences of jury duty, Deena Mullen is strikingly unaffecting. But when she talks about the specifics of the O.J. Simpson case, and the monstrous brutality of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, she is powerfully compelling, and so is the film made about her.

Mullen thinks Simpson is guilty as hell, and her account and insights should give even Simpson’s few supporters second thoughts.”

      • Nikky says:

Really? I know for damn sure that in his place, if I HAD the money, I would pay to keep them off my case. Especially in something so high profile that a fair trial could have been a laugh. Prison vs. giving up money that I have? And the amount was never declared, it was rumored.

RIP to all three, it amazed me how touched I was, especially by MJ’s death.

    • Emma says:

Uh he did dangle his kid over a balcony though…

    • Snickers says:

Yes! Someone who is FINALLY understanding! *virtual high five for understandment!* I’ll miss MJ, even tho I never met him… D’:
R.I.P, King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

    • RestInPeaceMJ says:

*hugs* Thank you for saying that.

  15. Laolith says:

Two rather larger than I had realised parts of my childhood gone… Weird how things you hadn’t thought about in year suddenly come back to you. Like remembering sitting up with mum, watching Charlie’s Angels. Or being 7 or 8 years old, trying to get some sleep on a summernight, while the neighbours across the street played “Beat It” really loud on their stereo…

    R.I.P.

    • Ninster says:

My friends and I spent many a slumber party attempting the moonwalk. It’s very sad.

      • Beth says:

I sang “Thriller” over and over but never knew anything but the chorus. Thus, I repeated it while shambling around pretending to be a zombie.

        Miss you all, R.I.P.

  16. Steve says:

    First

  17. Locke says:

Good riddance, in regard to the top half of the picture.

    • SirBaggsQHeadington says:

Wow, you have no respect do you? Believe it or not, somebody actually BELIEVED in these people, hell, even loved them. You are a horrible person to say that the world is better off with the top two. You, sir, make me sick.

      • i_am_#1 says:

Loke, have you no heart? Everyone on this planet is the son or daughter of someone. I don’t know about FF’s mom, I realatively sure EM’s mom has passed. But MJ’s mom is still alive and she has to be heart broken right now. Burying a child is NEVER easy on a mom or dad. Shame on you for being so cruel!

        • i_am_#1 says:

I’m willing to bet you’d be upset if someone you loved passed on, especially if they made a comment like what you said.

        • Eric-in-STL says:

Speaking from experience, you couldn’t possibly be more right. I feel bad for the entire Jackson and Fawcett family right now. Michael may have been a bit screwed up, but he had people that loved him. And the death of any human being is tragic.

        • Courtney says:

I’m not sure about Farrah Fawcett’s mother, but I know her father is still alive, and this is unfortunately, the second child he has lost to cancer. :(

      • Stikibunn says:

Dangit c’mon, just yesterday everyone hated the guy!
now because he’s dead we gotta turn a blind eye to his chrnic stupidity and possible pederasty?
What’s all this “respect the dead” stuff. The dead don’t need our respect, they’ll never know and MJ’s family are to greived to care what anyone else says. Do we say nice things about hitler? he’s dead?
sure mj’s no hitler but he certainly wasnt a sane person, not for 10 years at least.

        • kaellinn18 says:

I did not think it would be possible to Godwin this thread.

          Well done!

        • Am I missing a tooth? says:

D00D, you stole Bye Bye’s bit!

          • Vila Restal says:

For those of us who only speak English – What the hell is to Godwin???

            • Naoyusimi says:

“Godwin’s Law is a natural law of Usenet named after Mike Godwin (godwin@eff.org) concerning Usenet “discussions”. It reads, according to the Jargon File:

As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.”

        • jensalik says:

“possible pederasty?” – so what do you want to say? you are possibly a murderer, and i am possibly a bank robber, who knows….

he was a great entertainer and made many of us happy so that’s a reason to be sad.

plus you don’t say so much bad things about mass murderers called presidents, do you?

  18. Ceejay says:

    RIP.

You all have done so much for us.

    You will be missed deeply.

  19. Minkis says:

michael jackson special on MTV right now..

  20. Hah. says:

Whats the difference between sir Alex ferguson and Michael Jackson?

Alex Ferguson will be playing giggs in August.

    • Puddi says:

Yeah, I would surely be p***ed off and want the money for my tickets back.

Although … I guess it’s a good excuse not to show up for the concert.

  21. patty says:

    :( RIP all of you.
i will finally learn thriller in MJ’s honor

  22. Hywel says:

Whats the difference between Michael jackson and Sir alex ferguson?

ALex ferguson wil be playing giggs in August

  23. SteelSkin says:

Damn, I only knew about M.J.. Now I’m sad about Farrah too. Who’s the third one, btw? Being French, I’ve never seen that face :/

  24. Bye Bye says:

Michael Jackson’s body is being melted down and made into toys. So children can play with him for a change

Neil Armstrong, back to being the worlds number one moonwalker.

Weather channels are reporting high winds throughout the world!
Aparently it is being put down to all young boys breathing a sigh of relief

  25. Kanninhamu says:

    Too many deaths… R.I.P

  26. Gin says:

MJ’s death is kind of a shock. He was only 50 and he died of cardiac arrest. I hadn’t even heard about Ed McMahon!

    Rest in peace.

As to the ones posting crap here… Considering that you’re posting insults about someone who just died, maybe when you die people who know you will do the same. Seems likely, since you’ve proven what a$$holes you are.

    • Bye Bye says:

      It won’t matter.

      We won’t care.

      We’ll be dead.

      • UKSponge360 says:

agreed. when we’re dead we don’t care what people say because we won’t be around to hear it

        • BioChick says:

You might not hear it, but your family might. Even if you didn’t care about him, three kids lost the only parent they knew. Have a little respect for them.

          • Gir says:

No kidding. You guys are total jerks.

          • Bye Bye says:

            I’m overjoyed for them.
They might get a sane person to bring them up now.

            • i_am_#1 says:

              Get real, bye.

              • Bye Bye says:

                Get real about what?
When you die that’s it, no more, no hearing anything, no worrying.
                That’s real.

Oh, you said bye, are you still here?

                • Am I missing a tooth? says:

I think he may be worried about be becoming a post-modernist.

                • Justice says:

Bye Bye, I may not know you, but for sure, you are one disrespectful and thoughtless human. Maybe these comments are an outlet for you for various reasons, such as your lack or morals and maturity of emotions, but people actually read these and make sense of them.

I don’t know what you are, maybe Satanist or Atheist.

But for every person who has a religion that believes that “do unto others as you would like them to do to you” that’s reading this, I need you to request tha “bye bye” gets what he negatively deserves.

And now, Bye Bye, I suppose you’ll respond to this with some kind of smart aleck remark, or ignore this statement out of pure ignorance? Or maybe you’ll realize that people aren’t just toys in this world.

Or you can just smirk and close your web browser.

Damn, we come here for laughs, look at this tribute; say hey thats not humor. So we get into the serious mode and then we see a sadistic lunatic disrespecting this tribute. Well, I’m done. I’m off to go have a happy life unlike what you deserve. Maybe when you change you’ll deserve happiness.

                  • Skyshade13 says:

I’m totally behind you, Justice. I admit I joked about MJ a few times, but I hope the jokes will die with him. The music is all that needs to be remembered.

                    • Am I missing a tooth? says:

                      Yay for… forgetting history?

                    • Stikibunn says:

I don’t get it. Why are we respecting someone now that he’s dead when while he was alive he was mostly at best a freak and at worst a monster? Shouldn’t we tell people we respect them while they’re still living?
Why do we wait until they are dead to forgive them and wipe away their transgressions?

                      • BioChick says:

It’s done out of respect for the survivors, not the person who died.

And, Justice, please don’t assume Bye is an atheist. Most of us are decent people. Jerks can be found in all creeds!

                        • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Wait… So the family members never get factored in so long as the guy is a live?

                          This explains everything!

(Goes off to kill a family member.)

                        • Justice says:

I could have said any other religion. Sorry for any misunderstandings.

“Why are we respecting someone now that he’s dead when while he was alive he was mostly at best a freak and at worst a monster?”

Good points. I agree. What is with the sacredness of death? Is it some sort of primitive, hushed, whistle-past-the-cemetery-type of behavior? Why do we have to forget what harm someone caused in life, simply because they’re dead now? Is being dead enough “punishment”? Is that it?

                  • get a grip says:

Hey- don’t assume that all atheists are jerks like bye bye. That’s totally unfair. A belief in god doen’t mean people are always or (even ever) polite, well behaved or considerate of the feelings of others. Neither does a lack of belief in god prevent a person from being polite, well behaved and considerate of the feelings of others.

                  • justsomerain says:

@ Justice, what do you mean “maybe Satanist or Atheist.” Just because people are Atheists doesn’t mean they have no sense of moral values, or are terrible people. It is even possible, bet you didn’t think about that, huh, that Bye Bye is a *gasp* Christian! But enough of that.

I think it’s sad these people died. You can say what you want, but MJ was a gifted musician, even if he did bad things. And Farah Fawcett was indeed a gorgeous woman. And I’m sorry to say, but I never before heard of mr MacMahon (European here)

          • jeremy says:

Umm, not trying to help their case here, but really Michael Jackson’s family is probably not roaming this forum right now looking for what ByeBye is saying about him either. There’s not really any point in chastising him.

  27. ROFLmaddy says:

well crap! king of pop dead… so sorry :(

  28. Tyler Durden says:

Tonight I shall honor our fallen musician by playing one of his songs in Guitar Hero and another (albeit a cover) in Rock Band.

Good night sweet king of pop.

    • Skyshade13 says:

That’s EXACTLY what I just did! LOL! I didn’t read this comment before I posted mine! Gonna miss him, though. Do you know that he was actually going to have a revival concert starting July 13th? He might’ve gone the way of Britney Spears and come back. Who knows?

  29. UKSponge360 says:

are we blaming it on the boogie?

did they perform CPR? or did they try ABC?

    so much potential…

Everybody dies sooner or later, it’s the only true certainty in life. MJ was lucky to have had a good, successful life (for the most part)

  30. Lindsay says:

RIP will all be greatly missed

  31. Ammi says:

God damn, he died so friggin’ young… :/

  32. Robin says:

R.I.P All of them. Its sad Michael Jackson died some hours ago :( They all did so much good. Bless them all.

  33. Rosebud says:

It used to be considered rude, in poor taste and possibly bad luck to speak ill of the dead. It’s interesting to see how far our society has declined.

    • Bye Bye says:

It used to be considered blasphemous to say the world was not flat.

      The world has moved on.

      Deal with it.

      • Rosebud says:

I wasn’t speaking of science but instead of decency and respect. THank you for proving my point.

        • Bye Bye says:

          What point?

          • SirBaggsQHeadington says:

That society is continually declining in respect for people, living or dead.

            • Bye Bye says:

Where are your facts to back up this statement?
Do you have research and figures to prove that it is true?
Every day I see people respecting others who deserve their respect.
Just because someone sang doesn’t mean they deserve respect.

              • What'sThePoint says:

Why can’t you and the rest who make snide comments just let other people gather and mourn? I don’t what in the world happened with MJ the later years of his life, but I am mourning the incredibly talented young man he was. I was surprised do feel as I do. I guess I was mourning the kid all through the last decade or more, but today the loss is clear.

Really, try to compartmentalize this a minute and go to youtube and look up “Who’s Loving You” videos or the Motown 25th Anniversary special. That’s the guy I’m mourning today.

Or maybe Bye Bye just enjoys being snide and thoughtless and rude. Please go away now and find something positive to contribute.

                • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Simple, as robot chicken proved, the real Michael Jackson was kidnapped by Aliens years ago. The guy who died was the evil replacement meant to take over the world… Some how.

See? He’s celebrating Earths victory against yet another alien invasion.

                  GO EARTH WOOOT!!1

                • Realist says:

OMG! Really? How can you mourn what you did not loose? Did you know him? Did you have coffee together once a month? Did your memories of hearing his music on the radio dissappear this afternoon?
You have lost nothing. Why are all these people going into meltdown? His cd is still in the store. His videos are still on YouTube. You still have all you ever had of him.

        • Naoyusimi says:

Ahh, I was right. The primitive “bad luck” reason. Still exists. How superstitious some people still are.

    • Skyshade13 says:

Hey, if we’re saying good things about them…unlike SOME people…it should be okay. I actually am being respectful of MJ. He just had a big meltdown. There WAS the possibility of a comeback, because he had, and STILL HAS fans.

  34. Nnageam says:

thank God Michael id gone, I mean I’m sad a fellow human being is gone but now little boys are safe again.

    • Kitteh_Kat_Celia says:

How dare you say that. Michael was a hero to many people and Farrah inspired many people to follow their dreams.

      • Bye Bye says:

He probably dare because he doesn’t have to have the same beliefs as you.

        • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Nothin’ to do with beliefs, Jackson was a pedophile, pure and simple.

He may of once been nice, and most people were holdin’ out hope that he’d get his act together. It’s why people are attacking you over the jokes.

Personally I’m just to damn young to care about the guy, other than in the broad “all man are brothers… for whom the bell tolls” sorta way, which is why I’m just screwing with ya for the fun of it.

    • Point of fact, if my children had been touched, no money on Earth would have stopped me from tearing everything from under him and then either having him jailed or killing him with my bare hands.

Now you have to wonder, if you are innocent, which is better, just shutting them up or dragging the case on and on and on and on. Obviously nothing happened because they just put a price tag on their kids.

Mill that around for a while.

      • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Hmmm, I notice you can afford a computer…

      • Bronwyn says:

Amen DWN! That was the “proof” I need to believe MJ didn’t molest any kids. I think his behavior was erratic, and he preferred the company of children to adults, but I think that was a non-sexual preference. I think he wanted to be a kid forever. (Hence “Neverland Ranch.”)

  35. meep says:

    too young <—…rip anyhow

  36. Rosebud says:

When a person goes to a funeral, do they stand up and talk about all the horrible garbage the person did? No, instead they speak of their life and the ways the deceased has blessed others. I find it appalling that a man has died, and people are saying dispicable things of him. Would they go to his funeral and say them? Look his family in the eye and say them? What benefit is there in saying these things? Why not simply say “Rest in Peace” or somesuch? Doesn’t it just make the speaker sound crude or ill mannered?

    • Bye Bye says:

Would you have gone to Hitler’s funeral and said good things?

Some people would some people wouldn’t.

      Not everyone agrees with you.

      • Rosebud says:

So you are now comparing MJ to Hitler?

        • Bye Bye says:

No, but I knew that would be your next comment, thank you, I win a piece of cake I bet with my room mate.

          • Rosebud says:

Okay well come on. Mention Hitler in the same sentence with ANYONE and thats the comment that would be made. Poor bet! I think you may have just taken advantage of your roommate… :)

            • Igloo McCoy says:

This excuse of “don’t speak ill of the dead” is ridiculous. Death is a natural thing and we’re all going to experience it and it shouldn’t be a cut off for criticism. You’re basically saying “Get all your insults in while they’re alive” Why? So they can defend themselves or something?

        • Puddi says:

You can’t compare MJ with Hitler. I mean MJ was a much better singer.

      • SirBaggsQHeadington says:

And yet another shows no respect for people. MJ and Hitler are two totally different people. MJ didn’t kill millions of Jews, now did he? Show a little respect, man.

        • Bye Bye says:

No, and Hitler didn’t mess around with young boys or feel so insecure that he needed to change his skin colour.

I was comparing the fact that no everyone would want to say good things about any dead person at a funeral.

Unfortunately your prejudices don’t allow you to see that.

        • i_am_#1 says:

How can he show something he or she doesn’t have?

          • Bye Bye says:

            How do you know that?
            Have you met me?
Do you know 100% that I do not respect anything?

And do you get invites to funerals?
Do Hallmark do a card for that?

            • Am I missing a tooth? says:

              Observation.
They have been talking with you for the last five minutes.
              Again, observation.

              Civility.
Are you suggesting Hallmark has sex with cards?!?.

              • Bye Bye says:

No, the person who said I had no respect only came in for a second and then disappeared.

And I am sure if Hallmark thought they could make money out of it they would have all their staff making sweet love to the cards first thing tomorrow.

            • Rosebud says:

Yes, though instead of a card it would be a refusal to admit at the funeral door, or being shunned “Oh. Don’t tell HIM that this person died. He might come to the funeral and disgrace the deceased!!”

      • Eric-in-STL says:

        Godwin wins again.

    • Amnell says:

I think Thumper said it best: f you can’t say something nice… don’t say nothing at all.

      • Bye Bye says:

Someone beat you to this below.

Although, isn’t this a double negative?

        • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Are you arguing about the grammar of a talking rabbit?

        • Rosebud says:

It’s commonly known as the Golden Rule – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. IOW – treat others as you would want to be treated.

          • Bye Bye says:

So surely this should have applied to the person we are all talking about? Yes?

Therefore no messing with children, no changing your race, no dangling babies over balconies, no being a complete nutcase.

Unless of course you want all those done to you too.

            • Eric-in-STL says:

You know what, we all know Michael Jackson did those things. There’s a time and a place for that. This isn’t the time. It is the place, but not the time.

              • Rosebud says:

no, we don’t. None of us was there. None of the media that informed us was there either. We know nothing. Now, the things he did are only between himself and his Maker. It’s no longer any of our business.

                • Stikibunn says:

And we don’t know he’s dead because we weren’t there so your comment if moot.

                • Realist says:

Wait a minute! There was media there when little Blanket was dangled over the edge. And there are plenty of pictures in the media showing his change from black man to white woman.

            • Rosebud says:

So because the deceased we are discussing did all these things, it therefore gives you liscence to make fun of him, insult him, etc?

Applying the golden rule to another person without regarding your own behavior is called judgementalism.

              • Bye Bye says:

No, the right to free speech and opinion gives anyone the right to make fun of anyone. And whether it is an isult or not is a matter of opinion.

And your second sentence makes no sense whatsoever, if you were to follow it to the ultimate then no one could ever speak. Think about it.

                • Rosebud says:

Just because you didn’t get it doesn’t mean it doesn’t actually make sense.

                  • Bye Bye says:

Explain it to me then please.

                    • Rosebud says:

If you expect another person apply the golden rule to themselves, but don’t try to apply it yourself, then you are being judgemental of the other person.

                      • Bye Bye says:

                        I still don’t get it.

I don’t think that the person who died applied your so-called golden rule. But you are suggesting I don’t apply it to myself so that means I am in the wrong because I don’t think he applied it.

                        My head hurts.

                        • Rosebud says:

Dagnabbit. There was a line of logic in there somewhere… I know there was. Where’s my shovel?

                        • Rosebud says:

WAIT!! I GOT IT!! The golden rule doesnt apply to how others should behave, but to our own behavior.

                      • Am I missing a tooth? says:

                        ..Wah?

                      • Inked_Hippie says:

Let it go, both of you. Seriously, who cares? Yeah it’s a damn shame he’s dead (in my opinion) but not everyone loves everyone else. It happens. All the time.

Arguing over the internet is like racing in the Special Olympics…even if you win, you’re still retarded. (*gasp* “she mentioned retarded people in an almost negative manner!!” …..just something else for lifeless trolls to b!tch about….and GO)

                        • Rosebud says:

LOL. Nope, not retarded, just bored. Me, that is.

                        • Bronwyn says:

This reminds me of the line in “Waiting.” “You’re the coolest f&$^ing guy at Shenaniganz! That’s like being the smartest kid with Down syndrome!” As a special education teacher, and sister to a woman with Down syndrome, I should be offended, but I laugh every time I even think of this line!

                    • Skyshade13 says:

I don’t even get how YOU don’t get it. Think of how you would feel if you were accused of a crime you didn’t commit. How the heck do we know if MJ did what he did or not. He might’ve been crazy, but a lot of great people were thought of as crazy. Charles Darwin, for example. Christopher Columbus, for example. MJ had some great music and THAT’S what’s going to be remembered, NOT what happened at the end of his life.

                      • Bye Bye says:

                        That’s sort of the point.
Just because he had great music doesn’t mean all the other things should be forgotten.
There is too much of a culture of if you are a celebrity then you get away with whatever you want.

                      • lemon face says:

thats completely different, Michael Jackson never claimed the world was entirely different or accuse the church of being liars

              • jeremy says:

                Rosebud said:
“Applying the golden rule to another person without regarding your own behavior is called judgementalism.”

Actually, the correct term would be hypocrisy.

          • Naoyusimi says:

Ya know, if I had done harm to children, I would deserve every WORD I got, and be thankful (although how one shows thanks when dead I’m not sure) that was ALL I got.

hence why i never go to funerals… its called realism try it ppl

    • jeremy says:

Once again, this is not Michael Jackson’s funeral, and his family is nowhere in sight. Do you really think his family is roaming this forum? Don’t worry about what Bye Bye is saying.

    • Realist says:

Actually it makes the speaker honest and respectable. If you always tell the truth and do whats right; the worst thing people can say is that you were honest.
Why lie about someone after they are dead? It won’t change the facts or make them a better person.

      • Tyche says:

Um, if you think the worst people can say about this honest person is they were honest, you are being quite naive. There is sure to be at least one jerk ready and willing to say crappy things about the honest do-gooder whether they are true or not. Sad but true.

And as for MJ, yes, he was weird and troubled and had issues both mentally/emotionally and with his health. Some of us would prefer to remember him for his good points: his music and generosity to charities. And others seem to prefer harping on about the alleged child molestation. To each his/her own, I suppose.

    • Naoyusimi says:

      We’re not here to eulogize anybody . . .
      WAIT–! Are we?

  37. BB says:

All so sad. I give props to the OP for acknowledging Farrah and Ed. May they all rest in peace.

  38. Casey says:

In the words of Thumper, if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.

    • Bye Bye says:

      Isn’t that a cartoon?
So we have to obey a cartoon now?

Ah well, I suppose it beats having to obey a fantasy bearded bloke in the sky.

Can it be The Simpsons though? Or South Park?

      • SirBaggsQHeadington says:

Just stop, seriously. Do you feel like a better man slamming somebody who recently died? Does it make you feel like the better man? Do you WANT to be looked upon as an ass by the community?

        • Bye Bye says:

I feel great. Thanks for asking.
          How are you?

Where did I slam someone who had just died? I posted a few jokes about someone I had no respect for while he was alive.
Why should that change because he is dead? Are we automatically meant to respect someone when they die?

Where is this community that is looking at my ass by the way?

          • Am I missing a tooth? says:

“as an ass”… witty comebacks about someones grammar only work if they actually made a mistake in the first place.

          • Rosebud says:

IT used to be common decency to not say something negative about a dead person because they were no longer alive to defend themselves. And since we are online – the community seeing your ass-i-ness is the world at large. Or at least those with internet connection.

            • Bye Bye says:

Which is actually less than 1 in every 4 people around the world. Did you know that? Less than 1 quarter of the people in the world have internet access.

And where did it used to be common decency not to say something bad about the dead? Do you have proof or statistics to show this?
I can recall people saying bad things about certain dead people my whole life. Hence the Hitler mention above, which is why it was mentioned, not to compare him to a person.

              • Rosebud says:

Oh fuh-cryin’-out-loud. Forget this. Think I’ll stick to the Lolcats forum where people make more freakin’ sense!!!

                • Bye Bye says:

So you are saying that you cannot answer the question?

                  • Rosebud says:

Ok. Fine. You win. Happy? You have the right as I decree – to make a complete ass out of yourself as a dead man’s expense. I’m sure it’s in the first amendment somewhere. Kay? There. Sheesh. Life is too freaking short to spend it making fun of people living or dead. Apparently you have hereby proven C.S. Lewis wrong – he stated that all humans have a basic knowledge of good and wrong, of decency and indecency. Thank you.

                    • Bye Bye says:

I was not aware we were having a competition. Do I win a prize then?

I have a knowledge of those things you mentioned, they just mean that I don’t respect certain people who I don’t think deserve it, dead or alive.

                      • Rosebud says:

And my point is – if you knew the deceased personally and yet did not respect him – would you still go to his funeral, see his family and make jokes? Insults?

                • Am I missing a tooth? says:

I think you’re trying to combat internet nonsense with moral prosecution, let me tell ya’ It really doesn’t work that well.

              • Am I missing a tooth? says:

Eh, It’s a christian thing, maybe Muslim too.

Now, as a Jew, let me tell ya, we talk crap about every S.O.B, live or dead.

Well, Bye bye. I see quite clearly you have no brain and no heart…how the heck are you living? So he screwed up his life by making poor choices. Are you saying YOU never made poor choices in your life? Becasue if you are that’s the biggest load of bull I’ve ever heard of. NO ONE is perfect. Not even (gasp) you!

                • Bye Bye says:

No, I never said any of those things you mentioned.
Why do you accuse me of saying them?
Also how do you know that I have no brain or heart? Could it not be possible that if someone I respected died then I would be very sad and sorry?

                  • Rosebud says:

Exactly. And since none of us, I assume, knew MJ personally, then none of us has a right to insult him either. If we can apply that to you, if it is true we can’t say you have no brain or heart, then none of us can say that about any other celebrity, living or dead.

                    • Bye Bye says:

So you can’t insult someone you don’t know personally?
Does that mean I have to take back all those bad things I have said in the past about Bush, Cheney and all the other warmongering murdering bastards around the world?

(Now if we weren’t having enough fun with the MJ ranting I’m sure there’s about to be a lot more!)

Say what you will about Michael’s personal life, but I will remember him for the lasting impression he has made on the musical community. I enjoy many of his songs, and am saddened that he will not get the chance to make his highly anticipated comeback.

While I’m slightly too young to remember Farrah Fawcett or Ed McMahon, I know that they were also people who made great contributions to the entertainment world.

There is no doubt in my mind that all three will be missed greatly.

R.I.P. to the King of Pop, a true Angel and one of the best comedic sidekicks in showbusiness.

It’s funny. Everyone is so sensitive about saying bad things about Michael Jackson after he’s dead, but still people can badmouth the Catholic church, which over 1 billion people in the world adhere to dearly, and even people in this forum may as well, and it’s suddenly ok. Talk about double standards.

  47. Skyshade13 says:

  53. PaulV says:

Man I love you “Bye Bye” is manipulating all of you. Keep it up man.

But remember mate, Theres no proof that MJ did any of the aforementioned. The only proof we have is that he dangled a baby from a window and was maybe a little eccentric. We have all seen visual evidence of this. But the rest is speculation. So dont believe everythign you read.

Anyways have fun. Keep reving them up so we can both laugh at their weak comebacks.

      er.

    • Wasted.faith says:

ya don’t believe everything u read… *COUGH* THE BIBLE *COUGH*

      • Arthur Negus says:

Actually do!! MJ just used his (formerly) vast wealth to buy the best lawyers and to bribe the parents with more money than they could earn in years. No wonder they broke. Besides which those kids aren’t Jacksons, any fool can see that. His “kids” are white, Jackson as everyone is reminding us is supposed to be Black. Therefore how could a Black man produce halfcaste children that look completely white. It’s time at last for the truth to be revealled (Of course it won’t be Jackson’s family are probably having a family barbecue on a fire produced by burning the hidden documents. So we’re now left with people believing that he’s some kind of angel when he is the worst kind of devil.

  54. Nikky says:

    RIP Michael.

I think those people yelling “freak” are forgetting that he’s been in the spotlight since he was a very young boy, not to mention the abuse that all of his siblings suffered. He didn’t have a life like the rest of us, ever. So yea, he was odd. But he was still a human being. I totally expect to be ridiculed for this, but whatever. The world lost an incredible musician today, and his family and friends, especially his children, lost a huge part of their lives. It’s sad that all people see fit to talk about is what COULD have happened.

I stand by the fact that it was a huge bid for money, made worse by a society that jumps at the chance to scream “guilty” as soon as something is brought to their attention. Anyone hear the phone call between the father of the kid in the 90s and his friend? “Yea, if I ride this out I am set for life” or something. None of us will ever know, I just shrug off the people who think they do.

But seriously. That’s spooky! Nearly more spooky then what happened to one of my friends. She watched his film Ghost the night before he died. At the end of the film, she had a really bad feeling that he was going to die very soon. Next day- Swayze’s kicked the bucket!
So- you made a bet on Swayze being next and it came true. This world gets spookier and spookier every day…

My two cents are that I did love Michael. He was inspirational. He had good music and was a legend. To an incredible amount of people.

BTW, for those of you not familiar with Ed, besides being the spokesperson for American Family Publishing, and Carson’s sidekick, he was also a WWII & and Korean War veteran, a marine aviator (the Korean War, flying an unarmed plane as an artillery spotter – probably more dangerous that his combat piloting in WWII).

I was not a fan of either MJ or FF. I personally find some of the “mourners” who have been on the news to be ridiculous as many probably couldn’t sing half of his popular songs or tell you anything about these lives. But non the less, it is sad for all their families, especially MJ as his was a complete shock. I think, for MJ, this might be better, he didn’t seem to have much peace in his life, and if he did do what people think, he’ll be judged by a hand much more real and honest than any court of law, but as it stands, those of you like realist need to understand that people are gone, two rather tragically. and you don’t have to know someone personally to feel a connection and a sadness when they are lost.

Even Hitler had people who loved him. MJ was never that bad.

  81. ThePowerPanda says:

I believe Michael Jackson molested those children. Yet, I am sadden by his death. I was born in 1989 so he’s been around my entire life. I used to watch his movie Moonwalker over and over. It had some of the best music videos: Bad, Speed Demon, Smooth Criminal. “Drugs and bug and drugs and bug.” (‘course that’s not his line… but it’s in there.) My earliest memories of music are of his. So as far as he’s fallen, there will always be a little piece of me that stills adores him.

I hope his victims find peace. But also I hope he finds peace in death that he didn’t find in life.

    • Gau says:

Why do you believe that. Court said he was not guilty. I don’t believe he touched those kids in a wrong way. He was a very weird person. But ah well…I will miss him I guess. R.I.P. Michael

  82. swissboney3 says:

MJ Was found innocent by a jury of his peers. Just because he had the children in his bed or round his house doesn’t automatically mean anything wrong happened. He just wanted those kids who weren’t having a good life to be a bit happier so he did that by inviting them round his place and just letting them having a good time, not engaging in any sort of wrongdoing. He spent time with those kids so they could enjoy himself, because inside his head he was still young and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you feel that he has done wrong, then why don’t we look at other celebs eh? What about Madonna, how do we know she isn’t doing anything dodgy with the kids she’s adopted eh? And all these other celebs who have adopted kids? Think about that..Also don’t judge MJ by his face. Sure, it looked a bit odd at first, but it was his face he could do what the hell he wanted with it. If any of you went out and got plastic surgery to change your face and it looked a bit odd, i wouldn’t judge you by that, just your plain ignorance.
Plus, lets not forget about his career, made one of the biggest selling albums of all time (Thriller) and a lot of other good albums, something which i’ve never seen the ignorant people on here do.

    RIP Michael Jackson

must stand and face the hounds of hell
and rock inside a corpse’s shell.

The foulest stench is in the air,
the funk of forty thousand years,
and grisly ghouls from every tomb
are closing in to seal your doom.

And though you fight to stay alive,
    your body starts to shiver.
For no mere mortal can resist
    the evil of The Thriller.

    • paws4thot says:

Why? No really why? I didn’t respect the guy before he died, so why should I respect him now?

      • AbAcAd says:

Because he is DEAD and you’re not. It is at least vital to show some respect to the dead ones and forget about their past, because they have been punished with the worst punishment. (-Aristoteles?)

        • paws4thot says:

Em, I’m not saying nasty or untrue things about him. I’m saying that I didn’t respect him when he was alive, so why should I be hypocritical now?

          • AbAcAd says:

There is no need for being hypocritical. By “showing respect” it doesn;t mean you have to mourn and cry. It means that, if you got anything not nice to say about him, keep him out of your mouth.

He’s dead; it’s over. I’m just asking you to respect the fact that he exists no more, so as to prevent any argument from happening.

            • paws4thot says:

I’m quite honestly tired of hearing about it between my mother in law screaming “OH MY GOD” last night making me think something was wrong with the baby or the kids to waking up this morning to all the TVs being on talking about MJ on and on and occasionaly mentioning Farrah in between quite litteraly i heard on the the “has more information on the final moments of farrah faucett” “We’ll get to that in a minute but back to Michael Jackson.” They were people…..people die….every day…..it’s an inevitable after-effect of birth. I’m not being callous I just have no attachment to people I don’t know in the slightest other than how the media portreys them… and besides that they were just doing their jobs….. celebrities or not, it was just a job….

                • Naoyusimi says:

You have a good point. Others have said similar things on here; that thousands of people die on this planet, every day, some in horrendous and unjust ways, and just because we got a bit of enjoyment from these entertainers, we act like they were personal and lifelong friends.

  97. HCC says:

I’m affected by MJ dying. I’m twelve. My nephew is affected. He’s only known who he is for eight hours. He’s seven. MJ will live on forever as the King of Pop. No one really paid attention to Farrah and Ed because everyone knew Farrah was going to die, MJ’s was a shock, and hello, he’s MICHAEL JACKSON!

    • Arthur Negus says:

Yes!! He’s Michael Jackson. He’s an accused Pedophile, he openly confessed to sleeping with boys (who weren’t his sons!!), he’s openly mishandled his children (at least of them anyway by dangling him over the side of a balcony), he claims to have a skin diease, but it can be proved that he doesn’t and it was his own personal Plastic Surgery Fixation that caused it (that skin diease he’s supposed to have appears in patches, it does not appear as a whole.), he has obtained his children by either deceit or bribery as those children do not obviously belong to him (Children are supposed to look like their parents even when he was young do you see any resemblence to Michael Jackson in any of his “kids”, also Half Castes are suppose to at least look a little black, either in shape or skin tone, his “kids” are totally white (They’re not even albino.) So yes he’s Michael Jackson, eternal fool, deceiver, corrupt and possible Child Molester to boot. Not a role model for anyone (except the criminally insane)

      • HCC says:

Um, in case you didn’t notice, Michael Jackson is the ‘King of Pop’. That’s what I meant. God, if you don’t like him, don’t post comments, then.

        • Arthur Negus says:

Who called him the king of pop. He’s not there are many singers who are a hundred times better. I believe he was was responsible for the name the King of Pop, and also his publicity department played on the title “The King of Pop”, no one ever called him the King of Pop, he was no classic performer, there are many more better performers in Pop History – Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, Elvis, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Jerry Lee Lewis. They were the real Kings of Pop, Michael Jackson was just a wannabe with a big Publicity machine behind him which shows you that talent means nothing as long as you have a lot of publicity behind you look at them X Factor series of programs (i.e. both the X Factor and the American X Factor)

          • reggi_reject says:

Actually, I believe it was Elizabeth Taylor, one of his closest friends, that gave him the nickname ‘king of pop’ while announcing him the winner of an awards ceremony…

            xx

      • reggi_reject says:

Tbf, he’s kids dont necessarily have to be ‘half cast’. My best mate mick’s dad is black and shes white like her mum….she just got all the white genes instead of the any black. It’s not set in stone that the kids would HAVE to be half cast…
        x

        • Arthur Negus says:

Actually one is acceptable, but for all three to be white. Sorry!! It just doesn’t work out that way. The dominant gene for Jackson would be black (since both his parents were black) he would have three children carrying the (for him but recessive for whites) dominant black gene and the recessive white gene. Therefore at least one kid might come up white, but there would at least be some small trace of black heritage. There is none, also the kids look nothing like Jackson, therefore they are not his kids.

          • reggi_reject says:

fair point. But the world works in mysterious ways. Maybe it was selected that way. Maybe the mother cheated. Maabe it was something else. who knows?

      Amen, Kate…

thats why I made the comments I did a few days ago about my neighbors encounters with MJ as a kid. He actually was an extremely sweet strange gentle vulnerable child at age 7. He wasn’t like other kids. I’m amazed that he grew up to accomplish what he did. Such
people can be horribly misunderstood bacause of their anomalous
behavior starting in childhood. Add to that the abuse, the autoimmune disorder…usually a recipe for disaster.

Instead, we got almost 40 years of his talent instead of none.

I wasn’t a fan of his stuff but he obviously struck a huge nerve with many others. I choose to respect that part of it. This site is a place where we can all air our obviously mixed feelings.

However, these threads have a flaw. Those who read the first page or so, and never see the rebuttals of foolish or meanspirited posts, and just start up the nastiness again, get rebutted again…and on it goes…Is there an Old Threads home some of these can be retired to at some point? (Once enough posters have gotten everything out of their system?) Rezpekfully, BGC

And RIP to all the lost talented people (David, Farrah, Billy, Ed, etc) who passed these last few weeks. Hope they have their own Rainbow Bridge to sing & dance & play upon.

Wow this has certainly caused a lot of drama.
Sad about Farrah. Cancer is a terrible illness which nobody deserves. At least she is no longer in pain.
I am British and therefore unaware of to who the man on the bottom is. I understand he is really only famous in America. Well respect to his family anyway.

Michael Jackson. We all have our opinions about him, particularly regarding whether he did “it” or not. Even if I believe he did do it…do I think he deserves to die?

Of course not. Nobody deserves to die.

You cannot deny that he was a singer who had a massive impact on many people. Personally I feel that he stopped making good music 20 years ago (with the odd good song since). But to other people, his most devoted fans, this is a big deal for them. Just like it was with Elvis, just like it was with John Lennon.

If one of my favourite singers/actors died, I would be pretty sad too, regardless of the fact that I will probably never meet them.
It’s unfair to talk down to anyone who is sad about his death. Nobody should me made to feel guilty about grieving. Even if they don’t know the person.

    And nobody deserves to die.

      Well said, Charlie.

As a fellow Brit, I don’t know who the guy in the lower pic is either, but it’s bad news for his family.

I was sad when Freddy Mercury died back in 1991 because he headed up my favourite group, but hey I got over it, and it was never like I’d met the guy.

Cancer is a bad one to die from, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. It’s a long lingering death campared with Michael Jackson’s death which seems to me to have been quick. I’ve had several members of my family die from Cancer. It isn’t a good death, so I feel for Farrah’s family.

At least MJ’s death, as I say, SEEMS to have been quick but I only now what everyone else knows from the media. Which isn’t much at the moment.

  132. paws4thot says:

I can see the concepts of friends, and even of having respect for people, as being things that confuse you.

I did not like MJ’s music, but that doesn’t impel me to go round insulting people who did.
