That man’s a douchebag of epic proportions.
I’m sure when you said “John Stossel took him to task on that stand and ate his lunch.” what you really meant was, John Stossel interrupted Mr. Nye at every opportunity, not letting him finish sentences or make his points. All in an attempt to emulate his idol Bill O’Lielly.
Yeah…I bet, I can’t stand John Stossel either.

My AP physics class senior year watched Bill Nye too.

Actually, I’ve watched at least one Bill Nye episode in every grade since 4th. Which I think was right after it was cancelled and I stopped watching it on TV.

Mr. Wizard had the ability to hold the attention of all ages, this guy tried to bring humor to something that is not humorous. He was not a good teacher and his stand on glogal warming proved he was no scientist. John Stossel took him to task on that stand and ate his lunch.

I recently watched some episodes of Bill Nye out of nostalgia, and I realized something interesting: he doesn’t really teach much on his show. Watching the show as an adult, I found it to be uninformative, but I loved it as a child. So I guess in stead of teaching science (hard to do with 30 minutes a week anyways), he was teaching enough to get kids interested, which I think does more in the long run anyways

He was attacked by “conservatives” shortly after hurricane Katrina, when he spoke candidly on TV (CNN, I believe) about the causes and probable results of global warming. Now he has a show called “Stuff Happens,” about where the everyday things we use come from and how we affect the environment.
