  1. Mike! says:

She said she was clean! I swear!

  2. jess says:

    thats awkward

  3. drews says:

THis photo caption is very offensive, especially to those of us who are living with HIV. I would appreciate it if this picture were taken down.

    • Dave says:

Please explain in detail why this caption is offensive. Personally, I think you need to get a sense of humor or STFU.

    • Gin says:

I agree that this is offensive. Roflrazzi seems to be trying to make itself relevant these days with the Howard Stern method. Notice the sort of trolls it has attracted lately. Bleh.

    • PBJ says:

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is the Internet and you’re a random Internet user.

If it offends you; leave. It’ll make you feel better and those of us who actually have a sense of humor able to enjoy what we came here for: laughs about random picture captions.

    • Malisyn says:

So, let me get this straight. You came to a site that is specifically designed to poke a bit of fun at people, and you get offended at this? Um…welcome to an online community.

    • xOz says:

      nice one!

    • boootothat says:

And every caption that involves the word “cancer” is going to offend every cancer patient/survivor, in the world?
Life is boring without offense. This is a funny lol. I’d be more prone to be behind you (not in that sense, of course, with the HIV and all) if you were a monkey. Monkey’s have a right to be offended, not you.

      • PuppetPaws says:

        >>I’d be more prone to be behind you (not in that sense, of course, with the HIV and all)<<

Omg.. trying SO hard not to laugh right now. Must, remain, decent, person! XD

    • slupine says:

Well there IS a running theory that HIV entered the human population via monkeys, as our strain is… either related to or the same strain as that found in monkeys. But it kills humans because, simply put, it is ill-adapted to our species (a properly adapted virus keeps its host alive to continue to feed off it).

However, the theory proposes that it had something to do with the butchering of bushmeat and someone with an open cut on their hand. In spite of this, in any anthropology class when they first tell you HIV came from monkeys (since it is most known as an STD in spite of other methods of transmission) inevitably at least 60% of the class will assume somebody had “relations” with a monkey, until they are corrected with the rest of the explanation.

I would assume that this classroom occurence, not HIV itself, is what this picture is making fun of.

    • Jason says:

As someone living with HIV, I find this hilarious and not at all offensive.

    • philip says:

But HIV is a sexually transmitted disease which has it’s origin in an ape STD, probably transmitted through interspecies exchange of bodily fluids.

After that, (wo)man could pass it on to (wo)man. Just because you had sex with someone with HIV (or that your mother had HIV) doesn’t mean you’ve had sex with a monkey which isn’t of your species. It just means that sometime over 100 years ago, somebody did.

      Sensitivity fail.

    • Kevin says:

As a fellow hi-5′er, I gotta say, get a sense of humor! If you can’t laff at the crap life throws at you, you might as well just be dead.

  4. he did freaky stuff with the monkey ?:O

  5. JrO says:

Agreed this posting is offensive. I’m offended I didn’t find the picture first and caption is as such.

  6. Lady says:

I can’t imagine why this would be offensive even if you have HIV.

To me it looks like it’s making fun of the idea that Humans got HIV/AIDS from doing the naughty with monkeys which is widely believed.

    http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/qa/qa3.htm

    • whatever says:

Nothing about the CDC link is consistent with the idea of a human and a monkey doing the nasty. Just hunters exposed to infected blood.
      Wtf?

      • Nadromac says:

Thank you, I’m glad I’m not the only one here who knows how to read.

      • slupine says:

Yes, the facts are infected blood, but if you ever take a course on medical anthropology, this usually comes up, and it is usually led with merely the fact that HIV came from monkeys, and given that there is usually a portion of college students that go there to drink instead of learn, there are always a few people going “duuuude who slept with a monkey?” before the prof can finish his or her sentence.

      • Zoreta says:

I’ve heard it came from hunters infected with blood, but I’ve also heard that it came from people eating undercooked primate meat. Either way, it came from blood, not love juice.

  7. Meg says:

I found the humor in the photo-but NOT in the fact that “drews” has HIV! Criminey people-you shouldn’t LOL at someone for having a horrible disease! Have a heart.

  8. rtibo says:

Indeed, this is a highly offensive caption, perpetuating the false idea that HIV is easily transmited through a kiss or saliva…

    • Tek9 says:

The ease, or lack thereof, of transmitting HIV through a kiss or saliva, has nothing to do with the fact that it can be done. If they were making a statement about 100 infected people kissing 100 non-infected people and now you have 200 infected people, yes that would be something relevant and statistically unlikely to happen regarding HIV spreading through saliva exchange.

    • slupine says:

      How is it perpetuating that?

In my experience people don’t usually kiss naked unless something else has either just gone on or is about to.

  9. Leo says:

Unless you happen to be Mr. Heston or a monkey, how in the world is this offensive? Unless of course you are so racist you think the caption is saying HIV comes from black people, then yes, that would be offensive.

    • roygbiv says:

youre right. you would have to be extremely racist to come up with that one.

    • jess says:

wow you couldnt be any farther off topic, could you? people say it originated from monkeys. get your facts straight. then comment

      • nobody says:

Leo’s comment comes from the hurtful racial sterotype that black people are no better than apes, not that black people are cause of AIDS.

  10. Anathema says:

This site has done better. This caption isn’t funny… it’s ignorant. And to lol at someone having HIV? Good gods, what’s wrong with you?!?!

Leo – Black? Erm… I take it that you haven’t seen Planet of the Apes.

    • lolMiel says:

I don’t see how it’s ignorant. It seems we did get HIV from monkeys (eating them, not having sex with them as a previous poster said), but HIV can also be spread by having sex. So this caption takes things a couple steps farther.

Also, I think Leo was saying that you could only find this offensive if you mistook the ape for a black person–which a lot of people like to do, and then cry racism when none was ever intended.

      Explaining jokes sucks…

  11. RedRobin says:

This is also offensive to women who loved Charlton Heston as well as people with AIDS. I captioned this to read, “The script says I’m supposed to say he’s ugly. That shows I can act.”.

  12. flameow says:

What gives you the right to say that shirtless men like to kiss monkeys??? Tasteless, and offensive.

  13. Hein says:

This one is AWESOME! Laughed out loud for real for the first time in months. The head of the NRA …

“You’ll have to pry her from my cold dead hand ..”

  14. Rattus says:

I blame this guy for a lot of stuff.

  15. Kelly says:

oh honestly, how can this be offensive? it´s not saying that it came from gay people, or that people with it are dirty… it´s a commentary on where it actually came from. calm down.

  16. axchuli says:

I don’t know about offensive; I’m just pretty much in favor of anything that makes fun of Charlton Heston.

  17. Chewy says:

Seriously. No need to go Ape about it!

  18. grace says:

    I’m with the not funny.

Especially as some one who has lost close friends to AIDS.

    Not funny at all.

    • YLR says:

You think you’re the only one to shed a tear? Being in my mid-40′s I only have 2 friends left alive after AIDS…. TWO out of over 30… And my friends would have been the first ones to laugh at this… Holy Cow! ANYTHING that makes people THINK about HIV/AIDS and how it is spread is a good thing!

  19. STFU says:

    STFU

It’s very funny if you don’t like it go away and spank your monkey instead of kissing them.

Blame Charlton Heston he is the one who did it.

  20. Gustav says:

Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with commenting that you don’t find it funny or you find it offensive (next time, explain why though). There is something wrong when you think it should be taken down. Should only things you find funny be posted? Why is your sense of humor more important than mine?

Vote it down, make your comment and move on.

  21. Danbala says:

It is clearly offensive because it suggests that American men likes the apes, and also therefore that all spouses of American men are apes and also that all of them must have HIV which we all know really comes from standing up while having sex which is NAUGHTY and also it’s offensive because it is just …

    TOOOOO SOOOOOOOOON!

    Meh. :p

  22. DillyRat says:

HAHA!!! I swear I laughed for about an hour at this. Why are people offended? It’s funny… I’m gonna hang it up at work

  23. Death by Taco says:

It’s not making fun of people who have HIV, it’s making fun of the fact that this guy is kissing an ape.

  24. fiore says:

    Not funny.
    Ignorant, however, is certainly applicable.
AIDS, is in no way related to sex with monkeys.
And yes, The popular theory is that AIDS is transmitted from ape to human via copulation with monkeys. There is no proof of this fact, and if there was, maybe this might be funny, in a sick way…
There is a theory that AIDS was transmitted froma a monkey to a native via cutting meat to eat, or something similar to that, but there is no definitive proof of where it is derived.

AIDS is a very similar strain to EBOLA and is from the same region, but again there is no proof of where the virus originated.
    Sooooooooo…
this would be funny if it had been derivative off of fact, not of popularized theories. Hah-f*cking -hah, funny man. Try again.

  25. Vikkeez says:

It’s Laugh Out Loud…not BooHoo “I’m offended”!! Love it or leave it. People are here to laugh….we can go elsewhere to read and listen to “WHINING”.

  26. ehi'mhere says:

This is a scene from the Planet of the Apes, and is in no way shape or form how HIV transfered to people. HIV was transfered to people in Africa first of all! I was a black african! and they were eating the ape not having sex with it!

  27. M says:

    stupid, offensive, dangerous
