Gotta say, I agree. I’ve read all 4 books, just to be able to say that they aren’t more than average (aside from all those who just comment, only knowing what they’ve heard other haters say)
The books are average, much better if less static, as said (and less glittery, imo, I’m not a huge fan of the “glittery vampire” thing)
The movies are pretty screwed
HP books are pretty good family books
HP films.. well.. pretty screwed as well, since they only catch 1/5 of what happens in the books.

And yes, I was laughing my ass off after watching this photo! Damn great humor! x)

lol. i have to agree with some of the things i have read…which is a lot bc i spent about 20 mins reading most of these replies bc im trying to kill time and i basically have no life (oh well…) it is my belief that robert is indeed cedric diggory….i have read all the twilight books which were okay…the characters, however, were too static for my taste…the movies were horrible but i do have to appreciate the cg effects for the wolves…rob is not edward cullen…he never will be. for one, you could get more emotion outta that beat up truck that bella drives and two…vampires just dont sparkle. although, i do have to commend meyer on her originality. as for romance…all there is is a bunch of whining…not much of a romance…i could write a better one (and im attempting it too) most likely by allowing my characters to have some sort if intellect and to not be soo static…seriously. all her characters dont really grow…they basically stay the same…and i realize im ranting but it just feels soo good to finally get all of this off my chest…and i happen to be a HUGE fangirl of HP, which are way better than twilight. even a 50 yr old black and white movie would be better than twilight…no offense, but the vampire look like they were dipped in glue and then rolled around in some glitter…although i do have faves such as alice, jasper and emmette (spelling? oh well…) i have no qualms with them bc at least they put character and emotion into their roles. i am done ranting now…try not to me too badly…

i don’t speak Lexile, and that has nothing to do with this. I’m saying pride and prejudice was a much better romance than twilight. and the only reason i say that the twilight book is better than the pride and prejudice book is b/c i wasn’t as captured by P&P. i got to where lydia runs away with Mr. Wickham but then i had to put it down. I do however speak AR and P&P has a 12.0 reading level (senior in highschool) vs. twilight’s meager 4.9 (fourth grade, nine months).

All I can say is that you FAIL AT LIFE for even comparing Pride and Prejudice to Twilight. Not only does Pride and Prejudice have a higher Lexile reading score (1100, a 9th grade reading level, compared to Twilight’s 720, a 4th grade reading level) it has better character and plot development.

it’s not a whiny attempt. it is soo romantic. and its jacob’s fault. i have read all four books four times and plan to read them even more. ive read whats posted of midnight sun. and if ANY of you have read Dracula, then you would know even he glistens (i don’t have the book since i checked it out, so i don’t know stoker’s exact words…). although twilight saga was a GREAT romance, i must say pride and prejudice was better(p&p movie(2005) was better than twi movie but twi book was better than p&p book)

Exactly. Thats one of the problems I found with the books. Meyer is so “OMG VAMPIRE!!!!11″ that she doesnt quite capture the fact Edward is old. I know he’s supposed to look 17 and act 17 but he isn’t. He’s seen both the World Wars go by, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Space Race, Prohibition, the extreme Depression in the 20s and 30s. He’s seen presidents come and go, one was shot, some retired, some were “crooks”. Technology has gone from steam to the iPod and yet Edward has very little maturity after 108 years. When you’ve seen that much happen its unlikely that killing yourself would even cross your mind if your girlfriend had died.

i love twilight and harry potter but this is awesome. but when i watched goblet of fire, i was mad @ my friend for saying the scene was gay and i was mad at this pic for making fun of it. after i collected my senses and stopped bawlling my eyes out i was only mad at my friend. i cried again when they should his dead, tortured face in order of pheinox, but i think that was cos i was already emotional and teary from black dying.

I think the point of Cedric Diggory in the book is that he’s a genuinely nice guy so Harry feels bad for hating him (because Diggory is dating the girl Harry likes) – ergo extra survivor’s guilt when he is killed. He didn’t really come across that way in the movie.
