Which is why a large part of the player population of WoW is named some form of Legolas. Provided they’re not named Drizzt or Sephiroth. I could go on, but I’d have to create a graph and I don’t think anyone wants to see that…
Or… It could have less to do with Bloom or the movie franchise and more to do with LotR being the benchmark of fantasy literature.

(and more in general, why the hell would an elf, capable of shooting a goblin in the dark from 500 meters away within 2 seconds of spotting him, want to dress up like a drunken scruffy pirate who can’t even kill a giant squid (Legolas could)?)
