In a galaxy far, far away?
‘These ain’t the droids you lookin for mofo’ *hand wave*
No, in a Tesco car park…
And yet, somehow in the future?
Whattya talkin about? At the beginning of every Star Wars movie, the prologue starts with “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away”
Not a Family Guy fan then?
Just what I was thinking. They made a good point though. How can something be a long time ago yet in the future?
As it wasn’t in *OUR* galaxy, it *COULD* have happened a long time ago. We could be the ones who are slow to evolve.
Um, ok. It was only a joke, no need to get touchy.
This is not the joke you are looking for. **This is not the joke I am looking for** Move Along **Move Along**
Move along, move along, just to make it through?
Shouldn’t that be “Sir Alec Guinness” under that picture?
Obi Wan Kenobi: “My homie, here comes the most important lesson. This is how you flash the lightside sign”
Isn’t it, “a long, long time ago”?
Why do people abuse and neglect commas so much?
because you touch yourself at night. ,
Though it’s been ages since I saw the movie (tend to not watch them re-running it on television) I did a quick online search for scripts, and according to the one I found there is only one “long”, and hence no need for a comma. This jibes with my recollection that the line is “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…”
And I’m sure someone out there with a far larger number of functional grey cells than I posess could come up with a grand explanation of it being set long ago yet in the future and/or being a futuristic setting. You can either tell yourself that the rate of technological advancement in that galaxy is far superior to our own, or start with the fact that the distances between stars and galaxies mean that whenever we look up at the stars we’re looking into their past and build up a theory from there.
Hope my commas are in the right places…
Oh my, my this here Annakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later
Now he’s just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mummy goodbye
Saying “Soon, I’m gonna be a Jedi”
“Soon I’m gonna be a Jedi.”
Woo! Go Wierd Al! I love that song.
My thoughts exactly! Weird Al’s “The Saga Begins” rocks!
“…you don’t need to see an identification”
May I see some ID please?
Older than you think — Alec Guinness used this gesture in the movie
The Ladykillers in 1955, on his (robbery) gang members…
that guy’s from LA!
