I could quite fancy you if you were covered in random tattoos

cary grant

I could quite fancy you if you were covered in random tattoos, had pokey nipples, wore short skirts with no panties and did loads of drugs.
I could go as far as saying “damn”, if that helps.

(Cary Grant)

Who is that next to Cary? Tell us in the Comments

  1. Bitsy says:

    Jean Arthur is the actress

  2. SolomFtF says:

    just for cautions

Michael Gomez (born 1977) is a former professional boxer. He was born to an Irish Traveller family in Longford, County Longford, Ireland, spending his early years in Dublin before moving to Manchester, England with his family at the age of nine. Gomez finished his career fighting in the lightweight division, however, he is more notable for his fights in the featherweight and super featherweight divisions. During his career he has amassed a number of championship title belts: the IBF Inter-Continental featherweight title; and the British, WBO Inter-Continental, WBA Inter-Continental and WBU super featherweight titles. He was the first Irish boxer to win the Lonsdale Belt outright. Of his 17 fights between February 2001 and March 2008, 16 ended in knockouts. On 21 June 2008, Gomez lost what was seen as possibly his last bout—a last chance saloon opportunity to resurrect his career against rising star and Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan. The fight ended with Gomez’s suffering a TKO when the referee stopped the fight in the fifth round.

  3. JoAnn Rees says:

The movie is Only Angels Have Wings

  4. deadinfrance says:

Cary Grant-now thats a man *sighs*

  5. Eomund says:

Although they do exist, sadly they are far and few between.

    • Feisty says:

There are plenty of them in the U.S.A. but Hollywood refuses to take chances on unknown actors so instead imports them from the UK and Canada

  6. EWAdams says:

They’re all foreign. Try Audrey Tautou (France), Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, or Juliette Stevenson (UK).

    • CatManToo says:

I’m from the UK, we aren’t foreign, it’s you folk in the USA or Rest of World that are foreign ;-)

    • cardifg says:

Come on now. What about Par……..no, never her. Ok, Lind……….no, not so much her either. Mile………gawd who am I kidding?!

      Nevermind. Hail European actresses!

  7. Annie Crimefighter's Subconscious has 50 points says:

I seriously can only think of ONE exceptionally talented actress who has more than good looks. Zooey Deschanel, but she isn’t exactly A-List.

  8. Carrie says:

Alas, alack, so sad, so sorry to burst bubbles (mine were already burst when I read a biography of the eternally marvelous Mr. Grant), but the man was at best bi-sexual and had a long-running relationship with Randolph Scott, famed movie cowboy. Yes, he married a lot, but I don’t think that was his first choice ever.

  9. Necro47 says:

    wut?

  10. sweetfeet says:

Yep, but bisexuality doesn’t make him any less wonderful, it just spreads it around. I love Mr. Grant.

    • picgirl7 says:

i agree. sexuality has nothing to do with acting ability and humility. i tip my hat to Mr. Grant, for his class and his talent

      • Wut says:

I’m going to guess that the sexuality comment was aimed at women who are swooning over him (…despite the fact that he’s been dead since I was four years old), because otherwise it was just dumb.

        • Charlene says:

It’s dumb even so. A hot guy is a hot guy.

        • jl5691426 says:

Yes, I would think his being dead would the greater bubble-burster. Even if it were aimed at such women it’s still dumb; people can still fantasize about people whom they know are unavailable because of sexuality, marital status, death, and so forth. That’s why it’s called fantasy.

  11. smg. says:

Is the author of this implying that somebody actually quite fancies Amy Winehouse?

  12. sarah says:

Cary Grant…*drool* I dont care if he’s dead, that has to be one of the most attractive men ever, and he could actually act!

  13. ceallaig says:

Never let facts get in the way of a good fantasy, I say! Beyond that, all any actor owes me is the two hours or so of screen time I paid for. His or her personal life is their own business. And I agree, Cary and Randy looked smokin’ together!

And yes, that is Jean Arthur, a somewhat underrated actress. If you want to see more of her with Cary, I highly recommend Talk of the Town, with the ever-fabulous Ronald Colman lending his wonderful support.

    • kerrio says:

Don’t forget “You can’t Take it With You”, starring Jean Arther, and Jimmy Stewart.

Jean Arthur was, at one point, one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood. I loved her voice…

  14. Elissa says:

For anyone in the NYC area, Brooklyn Academy of Music is running a Cary Grant film festival this summer.

  15. EWAdams says:

And they have more disposable income. Young women are paid less, and what money they have, they use more wisely. The big exception being beauty products, of course. Revlon is to women as Budweiser is to men.

  16. minoru says:

    Archie Leach ftw.

  17. Meghan says:

In other words, he wants Amy Winehouse.

  18. Wyn says:

And don’t forget one of Jean Arthur’s best roles – she was the farmer’s wife in “Shane”.

  19. Bitsy says:

Also see Jean Arthur in the original “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” with Gary Cooper and a fabulous cast

  20. RedRobin says:

You forgot the part about having babies.

  21. faceh says:

    Brilliant.

  22. Molly says:

Jean Arthur starred in THE MORE THE MERRIER a very excellent romantic comedy, and also in the western ARIZONA, with William Holden (not the ARIZONA that starred John Wayne).

  23. ay dios mio says:

women spend more on horror movies than men. Yes even the ones where the cheerleaders get naked for no reason.

  24. M. Bratreaux says:

Jean Arthur is one of the top five actresses of the Golden Age of film, imo.

  25. Stillkj says:

AMEN, Charlene! Wish there were more women like you around ;)

  26. xsy says:

Jean Arthur, also in Mr Smith goes to Washington with Jimmy Stewart – and no, I am UNDER 50 – I just like good movies….

  27. phronsie says:

I thought this was meant to be sardonic; sort of highlighting the kind of women showcased today as men’s ideal in various media against the class and beauty admired in the past. Cary Grant’s characters adored intelligent, witty, individualistic women played by such actresses as Katherine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Claudette Colbert (<3 her!), Irene Dunne, Myrna Loy, Audrey Hepburn, Carole Lombard (what a woman!), and Jean Arthur, and so many more. It would be hard to find half as many classy and talented women (not ingenue or girl) actors, if you were given the past 20 years to pull from.

  28. ziggyaz says:

The lady next to Cary Grant in the picture is Jean Arthur.

  29. Daniel says:

I think he is looking for Angelina Jolie.

  30. HelenaTroy says:

    could be Jean Arthur??

  31. Katie says:

    I love Cary Grant, I haven’t seen a movie of his I didn’t like :-)
