Introducing the first phone to run on pure narcissism!
(Bono)

it would never run out of batter with me!
then its time to open up a chippy!
Pancake batter, or more of a tempura batter?
Or a proper beer batter.
The phone would probably taste good with a proper beer batter.
What?
maybe with a honey dijon dipping sauce
But he appeared Pro Bono.
Beautiful.
Is there any product bono won’t endorse?
These “Bono is a douchebag” lols are getting really, really old.
I was finding them rather Edgey too.
we can learn much from you
And we can learn much from you, too.
*eyes suspiciously*
friend or foe?
Nice one, you deserve a Cookie. Hope it won’t get stuck in your Adam’s apple.
yeah, i’m gettin’ tired of him being trash-talked too. he’s a good man, and does good work for the world. i don’t see many other musicians donating their money to help the world like he does. so get over yourselves, people. geez.
He’s never paid tax on the money he’s earned from his songs. He even moved COUNTRIES to avoid paying tax. And yet he feels it is his place to lecture humanity on how they should “do their part”.
That doesn’t make him a good guy. It makes him a piece of la-soh who should have the crap kicked out of him.
You still know his songs still rock…
Which makes Jesus a biblical Kanye
since when is promoting awareness of the great needs of africa ‘narcissism’????
Insecure people often insult those whom they feel inferior to. Most celebrities only live for themselves. Let’s give credit where it is do. Bono’s a good man and the world is better with him in it. Few can say that. Wether or not he is aware of that fact is irrelevant.
That, and the fact that he’s a giant turd. Just sayin’.
I rest my case.
You don’t watch much South Park, do you?
I’d say at least 9 Courics, maybe more.
how else could he do some many good things and still be such a dou(he
Bono does a lot of good things, sure. But he’s also a self-important prick who thinks the world revolves around him and is professionally speaking one of the world’s worst sell-outs ever.
I’m with the captain and john. Bono makes a difference with his fame and wealth. Can’t say that about many celebrities.
Funny how many of his great works ends with a concert he makes money from doing.
Then it’s not important, ’cause in a concert, he sings!!!!!!!!!!
You’d condemn him for making money off of U2 concerts when some of that money is used for a good cause?
Oh, yes, because you donate every single penny YOU make at work, don’t you?
Yeah, for f*&^sake, that’s a RED phone. You’re a real douche if you can’t support that
Bono tries to make a difference in the world-as for the person who wrote the caption can they say they have done half as much??
But, they got front-paged, didn’t they? ;]
I don’t see how only giving away a tiny fraction of your fortune is any better than the guy giving what he can to green peace. If you have a millions coming in every year than one or two isn’t that impressive.
So, which would you rather have, no donation at all, or the donation of 1 or 2 million?
I don’t like Bill Gates much (or, at all), but I have to say I admire the Foundation he and his wife have set up, and the things they’ve done. Now, one can argue all day long about how much they still *have* at the end of the year, and how they can “afford it”—the fact remains they are doing great good. They didn’t have to.
Bono also travels and speaks and gives a LOT of his time to the causes he promotes ….isn’t that worth something? Using his celebrity to bring attention to a cause he genuinely cares about? And how do you KNOW how much he personally donates, hmm?
Dude. Thank you. Very well explained.
Parable of the widow’s mite, anyone?
Yeah, seriously, Bono is a speaker at the fricken Willow Leadership Summit alongside Stanford professors and CEO’s. He’s a very humanitarian celebrity, and that lol is way out of line.
I’m sorry, just how do “good works” mean that you are exempt from behaving decently, and not sounding and acting like a sanctimonious g!t?
Having been party to U2 moving most of its business out of Ireland to avoid paying tax on it, Bono is hardly in a position to lecture any world leader on levels of government aid given to combat poverty.
Sorry, spreeing a bit on this LOL because Bono really gets me angry these days. Sanctimonious hypocrite!
Preaching to the choir here.
Perhaps he didn’t want that tax money going for causes he didn’t like.
(And ya know, I’m pretty sure that he did that move long before U2 got as big as they became.)
tell me one thing – you ever try to minimise YOUR tax??
I wish I had a phone that ran on sarcasm.
Oh yeah. Set it near the TV during one episode of House, and you wouldn’t need to recharge it for a whole year. My kind of phone.
“Are you sarcastic and/or a House fan? Does your phone always run out of batteries when you really need it? Well, with iPhone, there’s an app for that.”
Be forewarned: The following question has come from my genuine curiosity and naivete.
What is it exactly that Bono has done for Africa?
I can’t help but picture Southpark’s “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!” *blush*
there’s actually a program where each time he says yeah angelina jolie adopts an african child
Isn’t that from the RED brand? I wouldn’t call it a sellout to promote that cause…
Everyone is calling this guy arrogant or whatever, but he’s been nominated for a Noble Peace Prize 3 times! Who cares if he is (or isn’t) a tad arrogant, power does things to people! At least he’s not abusing it by taking all the money for himself, etc. You all would be acting just like him, if not worse than him, if you were doing the same thing. He’s done a lot for AIDS awareness, poverty, hunger, water, etc in Africa and, more importantly, has instilled a passion in other people to help as well. Get off his balls!
Does he pay these people when they do get on his balls?
Didn’t he once hold a concert in a country and set the ticket prices to be nearly twice the monthly wage of the average worker?
Hasn’t he never paid tax on his royalties for his music?
Isn’t he just full of crap and needs a good kicking?
In fairness, for a long time they didn’t need to pay tax on royalties because of the Irish tax laws, which exempted artists from paying income tax. As soon as that law was changed, U2 moved the bulk of their Irish-based business out of the country. . .
this reminds me off the south park episode about the biggest crap record… bono isn’t the record holder he’s the record.
Jealousy does strange things to people.
I hate this guy!
Wanker
He’s not a narcissist
I mean what’s it about with all you people?! You’re punch of idiots, you just don’t understand.
Bono has done lots of good things in his life.
You can do “good works” in public, but still be a doucebag in your private life.
where can i get this phone?
aww cmon
hes not narcissist!
hes a good man who does tonnes of stuff for others…
and one of the greatest musicians ever…
ok
2 things
how do you people know what bono does in his private life?
and how is it a bad thing that bono is raising awareness of the problems in africa and actully trying to do something about it? any of you people couldnt accomplish what he has done in an entire lifetime.
Any frontman in any rock band is narcissistic to some degree and actually I think the caption is quite funny a some way.
Bono is well aware that some people think that rock stars should keep quiet and not use their fame to try to make the world a better place. But he says he cannot just sit around doing nothing, just because some people will be annoyed. He’d rather be ridiculed than do nothing, which would be easier.
Regarding the taxes it might be controversial, but it is a bit unfair that Bono’s charity work is to his disadvantage. Why is the press (almost) only picking on Bono and not the other members of U2? If the band, and Bono in particular, weren’t known for their charity work nobody had raised an eyebrow when they decided to be tax-efficient and perfectly legally moved their royalty business to Holland.
He’s Irish, stupid.
