Second, it’s important for a little thing that I, as well as the rest of the world, like to call literacy. Jeezus, I just read through the entire thread and I swear if everyone was standing in the same room, it’d be WW3. For the most part, it’s really black and white here. Why can’t ya be in the middle?

I’ve read the books, seen the movie, all that jazz, and honestly Rob doesn’t seem like a bad guy, just his character. I liked the books but the movie kind of killed it by spending 5 minutes of on screen just switching between Ed’s and Bell’s faces. Isn’t that annoying? Actually, I dislike both of those characters…everyone else is pretty cool, a little more human-ish and dynamic…except for Jasper, that is. They rape his character in the movie.

Like previous commenters have stated, not everyone who’s a lover is gonna be completely retarded, and not everyone who hates it has no life/is a heartless bastard/etc. Not all lovers are screaming preteens with bad grammar, not all haters are nonconformists who feel the need to conform to noncomformity and so on. Cmon, peeps, cool the blood. :]]

“Let”? There is no “let” in Twilight. Bella has absolutely no control over her life, their relationship, or how he treats her. He is the physical superior by far, what with superstrangth, superspeed, supersmell, superhearing, superangst, and telepathy. If he wants something he will get it. Trust me, I read the books. I went in with an open mind because all my friends liked it and I wanted to as well, so we could bond over it like we did with God knows how many other series. I’ve known some of them for 12+ years and that was the first major disagreement I had with them.

Just a thought though. If you keep referencing us to the book, maybe you could cite page and paragraph numbers? It might make you seem like a rabid fangirl, but as I have access to a library I could make more informed counters in this debate if I knew what you were referencing.

Maybe we are disappointed in several generations of easily influenced girls who now believe that abusive boyfriends and not being able to take of themselves are positive things to be desired and achieved.

My reasoning for “going on and on about it” is that I hope by spreading something which is only MY opinion around will help people see that this fandom is unhealthy.

BTW, I for one, do not understand the whole “love triangle” aspect of the series that has so many people worked up as well. It’s only a triangle if the other guy has a chance…
