     All you need to know is, in just about every episode of this show something goes horribly wrong with the ship and they crash-land on some distant planet. Conflict ensues.

       That sort of the-ship-is-broken plot was more typical of ST:TNG than classic Trek, actually. Let the nerd wars begin!
