  1. Stueymon says:

First! hehe, sorry, never done that before, also blackadder is awesome!

  2. Jiks says:

I grew up with Hugh playing roles like this so it was such a shock when he unleashed his inner beast as House.

Which of course is the best thing that has ever been on TV ever. EVER!

    • bleachgrl says:

The first movie I ever saw him in was Stuart Little, and being the rabid House fan that I am, I can’t watch that movie without putting in some of the “House-isms” randomly in there. ^^

  3. me says:

It’s too funny when someone finds out that he’s a Brit comedian.

  4. Nicolletta says:

Humanity is overrated — oh…..time for tea!

  5. ss says:

My kids like House, so one day I slapped Blackadder dvd’s on the box for them; as part of a well rounded education. The looks on their faces were priceless as the light dawned…OMG! THAT’S HOUSE!!! LOLOLOLOL
Kids…so sure they know everything there is to know, but without any sense of history previous to their existence. Bless lol

  6. sopranomom says:

Hooray for Blackadder75! Good job my friend!

  7. Red says:

    Thick as a whale omlet.

  8. uber says:

    sillyness

  9. Allie says:

Blackadder is WAY better than House.

    • paws4thot says:

I see where you’re coming from, but they’re such completely different types of show. I really don’t think they’ve anything in common other than Hugh Laurie.

    • shonuff says:

yeah, House blows. when it started it was good but each episode gets progressively worse.

      • Cuisine says:

Except for the occasions where it’s better than some of the boring “It’s not lupus” episodes in the middle of the series.

  10. sally says:

No one else did it, I’ll be shallow…
    He’s HOT now.

  11. j.lunatic says:

Apparently an upcoming episode of “House” will feature an 80s party, and House will show up in 1780s costume (hey, the invitation didn’t specify 1980s). I’m assuming it’s going to look something like this. And yes, “Blackadder” is awesome in its way.

  12. deadinfrance says:

wtf? I will have to check this show out.

  13. Captain Obvious says:

    It’s never smallpox…

  14. uber says:

this reminds me of anne lennox walking on broken glass

  15. Wolf says:

Except that that isn’t Regency period clothing, that’s damn Rococo.

  16. Sherri says:

BlackAdder is epic Win! So is Jeeves and Wooster and Fry and Laurie and his many other things that I have known him from.

My friend and I first learned of House as we walked by a grocery check out and saw the cover of TV Guide: “hugh Laurie: Americans Sexist Man”

    We were like WTF???????????????

Since then I have subverted many a House fan by exposing them to his previous career.

I think he is Equally good at all roles– and applaud him his range. But House gets a bit old– same plot over and over. But I really enjoyed the few episodes I watched for the acting.

  17. deadinfrance says:

I recently caught part of a movie called Stuart Little? It was about a mouse and didn’t even reconize the man! I love him no matter what he does-he is just too sexy to not love…..

  18. vandalfan says:

I think I also saw him as a villain in a Home Alone movie?

  19. c0nzo says:

meh, this show wasn’t as good as ‘house m.d.- 1914-1917′

  20. Decoy says:

    “It’s NEVER the black plague!”

Um, except for that episode in season two…

  21. HellHathNoFury says:

I was shocked and amazed to see him as the father on both the Stewart Little talking mouse movies.

  22. synystra777 says:

i think hugh laurie was funny in blackadder goes forth, but better in the blackadder ii episode “chains”, where he is the german count “greasy shorty spot spot”. sorry to have onconwenienced you, good byeeeeeeeeeee!

  23. Courtney says:

Hugh! I love him equally in every single one of his roles (with the exception of Stuart Little, because that movie was a disgrace to the amazing book). House, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, Blackadder, Jeeves & Wooster… I can’t get enough of the man. He exposed me to British comedy.

    • kyasarin says:

THANK YOU!!!!! I tried to watch that movie with my little niece and ended up leaving the room before I did something drastic to the DVD player. The book is so amazing and charming, and the movie has nothing to do with it! Well, almost nothing–there is, in fact, a mouse named Stuart Little in both the book and the movie. And that’s about it.

    • Cuisine says:

Because one expects charm and wit in a book about an orphaned mouse who happens to be able to talk. Did we mention he was adopted by some random family in random New York (Is this right? I haven’t watched it since I was 10 some years.) in some random tiny house? Oh yeah, he also makes friends with a bird who happens to talk and a cat who can talk as well, but not to the people. NEVER THE PEOPLE!

  24. smenj says:

    My favourite Blackadder moment:

  25. Rosie says:

    “You shot my speckled Jim!”

    I love Blackadder…

  26. dukethepcdr says:

They don’t make sitcoms like Blackadder anymore. Now they are all modern day settings where boring characters do boring things and expect you to find it interesting. Most of the newer comedies these days aren’t worth watching.

  27. Katherine says:

I love Hugh Laurie in Black Adder, though I prefer Black Adder II myself; Miranda Richardson as Queen Elizabeth is the best!

For you Hugh Laurie/Black Adder fans, you should check out Jeeves and Wooster. It stars Hugh Laurie as a dim-witted young playboy and Stephen Frye as his cynical butler whose always bailing him out of getting married off by his rich aunt. It’s another period sitcom, taking place in the 1930′s (maybe 20′s?). Hilarious!!!

  28. BritCom_fan says:

I always find it amusing to see all the house-references when it comes to Hugh Laurie when I can’t seem to think about him as anyone but the dimwitted Prince Regent or the equally dimwitted (yet good-hearted and to women somehow enormously attractive) Bertram Wilberforce Wooster. The former of BlackAdder (or as Prince George the Prince Regent calls him: Bladders) III and the latter of Jeeves and Wooster. Also, whenever I hear/say his name I can’t seem to stop myself from thinking Huge Lorry… my point being that I don’t seem to be able to take him seriously… at all…

  29. t0m4ever says:

    Please accept my apologies.

  30. failer_proud2536 says:

THUMBS UP FOR NOT WATCHING HOUSE THE SAME WAY EVER AGAIN!!!]
    XDDDDDD
    :]

  31. very nicely captioned.
