  1. Achilles Cat says:

I love the Muppets! My favorite TV show was the Muppet Show! And Kermit! And Animal! And Yoda! Wait, Yoda wasn’t ever on the Muppet Show, but he was a Muppet! Kermit for President! Yay!

    • Ilove2learn says:

Actually, Yoda isn’t a Muppet. If I remember correctly, Jim Henson didn’t make him. Yoda was, however, voiced by Frank Oz, who also voiced Fozzie Bear (I hope I spelled that right).
I could very well be wrong, of course.

      • California Dave says:

Frank Oz also did Grover. Yoda’s voice is Grover’s with very bad diction:

“Hel-lo there, your old furry pal Grover this is!”

      • JammyToast says:

Jim Henson did not make Yoda personally. He was, however, created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop, and used similar puppeteering techniques to the rest of the Muppets, therefore is largely considered to be one of them.
The Jim Henson Creature Shop has made creatures for many, many films, and is still around. They even did work on the recent film Where the Wild Things Are.
As for Frank Oz, yes, he did voice Fozzie, along with Grover as mentioned later, and more other characters than you would believe, including Animal, Miss Piggy, Sam the Bald Eagle, Bert, Cookie Monster, and numerous minor characters and characters from other films. He’s actually still around and doing voices, he voiced Fungus (this guy http://www.wearysloth.com/Gallery/ActorsO/13302-25911.gif ) in Monsters Inc. A truly amazing and versatile man, Frank was Jim Henson’s right-hand-man and a close personal friend.

  2. Smalls says:

Hooray for Muppets! Jim Henson rules! And Dr. Seuss! And Shel Silverstein!

    • AliKatNya says:

      I agree with Smalls

      • cheesebrrgrr says:

Same. your words are ones of great truth, Smalls.
The Muppets and the Cat in the Hat and the Hurk poem(my personal favorite, yes I was able to choose one) are awesome. What is the hurk poem? Here it is: Hurk
I’d rather play tennis than go to the dentist.
I’d rather play soccer than go to the doctor.
I’d rather play Hurk than go to work.
        Hurk? Hurk? What’s Hurk?
I don’t know, but it must be better than work.

  3. sopranomom says:

Ok…. Who are the cold hearted haters that are giving this anything less than a 5? Muppets ROCK. They are one of the most Epic Wins of all time (yes, I know this isn’t the EW page). But, come on! You don’t vote down Jim Henson and his krew!

  4. yellowblanket says:

but- but- but Beeker isn’t smiling

  5. Slyver says:

I am the person giving this less than a five.I dont care that its a picture of the muppets. This is a site where you caption pictures with funny phrases, and this is not funny.I know what Jim Henson did,and i dont care. But this is a waste of time.I love the Muppets, but you dont need to post sentimental crap on this site.

  6. angie says:

bring back the muppet show in england my oldest son learnt so much from this show, now we have crap on t.v. for kids COOKIES

  7. Kate says:

Aaaaw, Jim Henson, I MISS you!

  8. Denis Leary says:

I think Jim Henson said it best when he said, “Does anybody have any aspirin? I think I got a cold coming on”.

    • forge says:

Christian Scientists don’t take aspirin you massive wanker. Oh it’s Denis Leary, never mind, he knows he’s a massive wanker.

  9. Multi-Facets says:

Aw, Jim. The little kid in me still misses him so much. The man was almost magic, and even though the Muppets have changed hands, I’m glad they’re still around.

  10. Op says:

Add one more smile to the list.

  11. yeahright says:

he was a total mastermind. it is a good thing that no one told him not to play with “dolls” i couldn’t imagine the world without kermit, Fozzie, miss piggy, big bird, oscar, bert and ernie and even elmo…

  12. A happy family with brilliant smile.

  13. California Dave says:

God love ya, Jim. We all miss you.

    • Smurf says:

Hear hear! For the child in all of us. (Even those who ‘got old’ when they got past 20 and ‘matured.’ Henson deserved the Nobel Peace prize, for his amazing contribution to childhood fun and learning. Thank you Jim, it was a pleasure.

      • cheesebrrgrr says:

Never was old enough to know him; missed by a few years. Love the muppets. Aw, Jim. You touched all of our hearts. You are missed, and I hope you are having a great time up in heaven. You deserve it more than a lot of people I know. Let us have a moment of silence for a man that made all ages smile. Goodbye, Henson. Forever.

  14. marktheshark says:

    +1 for the lameness

Post this to a tribute site or sth

    Give us some funny stuff!

  15. CarpeNocte says:

Beaker! Beaker-beaker-beaker! Not to mention the two “grumpy old men” in the balcony – their names escape me at the moment. Muppets rule.

  16. cloud says:

kermit the frog is awsome! but i don’t really know about the others

  17. cloud says:

i really like kermit, but i don’t really know about the others.

  18. itwasadarkandstormynight says:

Am I the only one who hates the Muppets? I always have. Even as a little kid, they pretty much freaked me out.

  19. vandalfan says:

I don’t see Ernie, so I think he only appeared with his friend Burt, Frank Oz. Kind of like a Lennon-McCartney song, no matter which of them wrote it, they’re always a team.
