He probably used one that he hated the tone of, or went and got a cheapo used one to destroy. When you’re that rich – things don’t mean as much. I’ve seen musicians drop one they didn’t care about and go “meh – so what?”, whereas you and I would have freaked out. 1500 bucks a pop (ten years ago when I was a promoter).
