I think modeling is about objectification. As a model, you are a tool being used to promote a product. A model is, in essence, an object. I don’t think models are intended to be any kind of guideline as to how women should look (or behave).

Being a gay man, feminism and feminist issues don’t particularly interest me, so what do I know? I generally make fun of people like Tyra with my girlfriends, rather than analyze her hypothetical interests in activism (not to mention that my friends are the kind of people who don’t really give a rat’s ass about models and the issues that surround them). Tyra’s hilariously over-the-top with being full of herself – who does she think she is, a drag queen?.

All I’m saying is we’ve only heard one side of the story.

I don’t get why an employer would open him/herself up to the threat of a lawsuit over inequality when he can pay both genders the smaller amount, avoiding potential legal action and saving the company 7k a year in the process.

IRONIC is when you say something and mean something other than the literal intent of what is said.

If they want to model for playboy(which is objectifying women, I guess), then they can go work for them.

Modeling is an art and it takes a lot of skill. It’s also not just about getting pictures taken of yourself.. you have to be charismatic and be a good spokesperson as well.

She might as well just burn her body to ashes cause she can’t win.

Tyra still has her booty and she got into shape and kept a food diary to eat healthy because of a little competition at work for people to take care of themselves.

Nothing wrong with being healthy.. no matter what size you are.

And exactly like Lexxy said.. some of those girls… not attractive to the average person by any means. Some of them even look alien like. She also likes to put some plus size models on the show too. This season is really exciting for me personally because it’s all about girls that are under the average height for models. I’m 5’3 and so I can relate!

All the girls on the show are pretty in some way shape or form.. so if it was just a show about who was prettiest and could sit there and have someone take a picture of them.. how would people get voted off? It’s a lot than that. It’s about being charismatic and having the right skills.
