Yep. What i’m surprised about is… does anyone remember the music awards in the past, where he flipped out when he didn’t win? That used to be one of the reasons we all didn’t like him. Now this.
What REALLY killed me was when Barack Obama called him a jackass to one of his friends, but didn’t realize it was taped. It was all over the web. I swear to god, being called a jackass by the presidnt would give me more publicity than i would have ever wanted.

During this year’s music video awards, Taylor Swift won “best new female” or somesuch. During her acceptance speech, Kanye West ran onstage and ripped the mike away from her and said something like “I’ma let you finish. . . ” and then went on to use her allotted time to say that he thought Beyonce’s video was the best of all time.
On a brighter note, later on when Beyonce won an award, she gave her time allotment to Ms. Swift to finish her interrupted statement.
Taylor’s comment afterwards… “Well, you know, I was up there and I was standing there and I saw Kanye up on the stage,” she explained. “I was really excited … and I kind of wasn’t excited anymore.”
She’s too nice to whack him upside of the head with the trophy… I think Miley would have laid him out cold though…
The thing is, Miss Cyrus would never be able to win such an award. Alas, we will never get to see her lay the smack down…

Kayne West jumped on stage at the MTV music awards when Taylor Swift won the award for best female music video. He took the mike and said “Hey, I’m real [sic] happy for you. I’m gonna [sic] let you finish, but Beyoncé had the best music video of all time. Of all time. Thank you.”
As you may understand, doing that made him look like a giant douche. And as such, he “ruined his career”.
I’m not a pop culture person either, but if you’re just an internet person (the kind that goes to pages such as this) you should know this too.

Taylor Swift isn’t exactly a super duper angel like everyone makes he out to be. She’s supporting suing a Bar for playing a tiny part of one of her songs, and the whopping sum of this lawsuit she’s supporting and bringing lawyers into is only a tiny amount compared to the vast millions she is making, and it’s all over a few karaoke bits.
I mean really Taylor? Do you have to put spies in every bar and restaurant and sue them if they play songs without your explicit permission, even if the lawsuit amounts to a few bucks? All that happy crap you spout about creativity and music doesn’t really hold up when you won’t let anyone listen without paying up.
In conclusion, both Kanye and Taylor can be jerks. But we don’t listen to their music because of who they are, we listen to their music because we like their music. Well… if you actually like their music of course.
Is that true? I just lost what little bit of sympathy I had for her.

Oh please, the article even specified that it’s BMI that’s causing the rukkus. They’re slapping Taylor’s name on the lawsuit to cause a stir.
Even if it had been Taylor who had sought out the lawsuit, she would be in the right. Copyrights exist for a reason. She may not need the money, but it’s about principle and standing up for all the other people who put effort into producing the record, many of whom are not raking in the big bucks.
In all fairness when any teen pop star tries to convince everyone they’re an angel and perfect I don’t buy it.
But that’s just me.
You’re only mentioning the part that makes Taylor look bad. This bar had actually been stealing music from lots of different people (many of whom are with Taylor in the lawsuit), and using the music for karaoke and stuff as well.
I personally think they’re doing this just because of this: if they let this go and pay no attention to it, people are going to start thinking they can get away with this type of thing. Then they really WILL start losing lots of money.
Exactly; consider why we have copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws in the first place. “It is the little rift within the lute/that by and by will make the music mute.” Winking at minimal violations can be the “camel’s nose under the tent.”

West had said and done several weird things before he did this to Swift. The guy has taken some time off to deal with his issues. (alcohol and drugs) His career was marginal before this and is prolly over because he keeps screwing himself up.
The look on her face is priceless.

I have sample his early works, some underground stuff and some current works too, but the only things MARGINALLY entertaining are colaborative works… nothing solo and nothing original.
His recent ‘acts’ have only solidified the fact that he is searching for ways to augment a talent that is subpar… IMO
