This is the Episode titled “Devil in the Dark” Season 1 Episode 25. Every one of those Security officers die in this episode.

This is not necessarily true… especially because in season 2 episode 13 “Obsession” there is a Security officer (wearing red) that did not die in the duration of the episode. We do however have to exclude all Engineering officers from the red shirt rule because they do not usually die.

No, it is incredibly sad that BoringTroll does not know this. It shows his memory is going. He used to know.

When Sandy and BoringTroll grew up, Star Trek reruns were much more entertaining than the alternatives, which included Gilligan’s Island, Hogan’s Heroes, and many shows to forgettable to mention.

If I recall correctly, which is questionable, usually at most one red shirt died in an episode to show how the monster worked, or to demonstrate just how evil the bad guys were.

There were quite a few episodes where no red shirts died.
