MY favorite movie was Labyrinth…
I liked Avatar, but it’ll never replace, say, Star wars(the good ones with Luke Skywalker) or anything like that.
It DID seem a bit too much like Pocahontas, but I liked it overall

More tie-ins to WoW (which I have played but never obsessively, am a married Mom w/a life and job and all…just as a noob havin’ fun) that film had epic/flying mounts, areas lookin like Zangarmarsh and Nagrand (flying mountains, anyone?) and I wanna see the stats on that epic bow that dropped off the Dad. Thought the film was visually phenomenal and will probably see it a third time in theater w/a different friend this weekend. I don’t view this like a movie but like a fireworks show or something. It’s just fun. What is scary…I hear people are getting depressed/offing themselves because reality isn’t as pretty as Pandora. Whoa. Got a name for these folks. Avatards. Scary even more, if some expansion to come sees WoW playable on a big screen TV with 3D Avatar-quality. At least several million subscribers would seriously never leave their couches again, and would need surgery to correct eye damage from constant 3D glasses use or die of starvation and physical self neglect on their couches. I love Avatar and I sometimes love WoW but…the two awesomenesses together=frightening.

It was so visually stunning (in 3D) that it could have been 2 hours of them doing the chicken dance, and I would still have been impressed. You’re too narrow minded.

I can’t abide by that.

The film has its good and bad points, as such it should be noted that this is not the best film ever, though I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it.

And the whole 3D thing… That will not happen on TV for many years as the technology just is not viable for a domestic product … yet. Considering that the 3D tech used in Avatar involves two sets of films in opposing polarisation being shown in alternate frames, and the screen has to be of a special material/paint for the projection to appear properly.
For proof, put on the 3D glasses, look in a mirror with one eye then the other, notice the difference when you look at the lenses in the reflection.
