  1. factory says:

    Achmed FTW!

  2. WorldsTallestMidget says:

    I second that, since I am…
    SECOND!

  3. Barbara says:

and if he had a deeper tan it wouldn’t be racist, since everybody knows only the pale can be that….

  4. Achmed says:

This is the perfect example of how America has gone bad. These peoples have hate in the heart and that is what must be stopped! Racists stopped!

    • boater407 says:

You idiots who keep screaming “racism” have so diluted the word that it means nothing any more. If a white person disagrees with a minority, he’s a racist, if a white person favors or opposes certain policies for purely practical reasons, he’s a racist. What’s the common denominator? The white person as viewed by the minority.

So who’s the real racist? The jerk who thinks everything that white people do is racist, because he’s judging them based on the color of their skin!

      • KartoonNotWerk says:

        Preach on!!!

      • Bwggy says:

        Testify!

      • Achmed says:

Only White people are racist! You Proof!1!

      • L. says:

Who’s the real racist? Jesse Jackson. LOL.

      • Valerie says:

Have you ever seen a Jeff Dunham act dude? I think you’ve just been waiting to say your bit, but you’re argument doesn’t belong here.

      • Your Straight Jacket Has Arrived says:

Let’s just face the facts that everyone is racist. My daughter, who has been raised around people of different colors and has always been taught that everyone is equal, still has racist tendencies just because one little black girl in her class is a bully. And she is mixed with white, Native American, and Hispanic, but still wants to insist that she’s white, no matter what I try to explain to her about her heritage.

People are different, and races have idiosyncrasies. White people, black people, and all the cultural and racial variations of brown people…they all have something in common. They are all funny. And as long as there are comedians, there will be jokes… and as long as there are comedians with different cultural backgrounds there will be racist jokes. I laugh at the racial jokes about white people… Why? Because it’s an exaggerated truth that hits home.

Some people are able to get the jokes and not be offended. Others have been hurt by the status quo and have reason to be offended. I can’t be angry at someone for being offended, but I hope that someday the jokes won’t hurt so much anymore, and people can just laugh at themselves as well as others.

  5. Joe says:

It’s not racist if it’s true.

  6. adouchebag says:

What did he (or the puppet) say?

    • SKW says:

His whole routines revolve around racial stereotypes. But not any more than most other comics. He’s just one of the most popular comics who uses those stereotypes.

    • Miz says:

And what does it make him when he pokes fun at himself? It is comedy! If you don’t like it…..DON”T LISTEN!!

  7. imaeatchou says:

So true. And I’m extremely glad that this picture isn’t making fun of him. Just speaking the truth.

  8. Dave says:

He’s an equal opportunity comic, he makes fun of everyone.

Besides, who really cares, it’s funny.

  9. JC says:

This is spot on. Well done!

  10. michelle says:

You all need to grow up. Racism is what all black comedians rely on for their act and you dont’ cry over that. Maybe this stupid Achmed character wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the racism, hate, and sexism of Muslims. Put the blame where it belongs.

    • wit says:

That’s right…because the Muslims do it, we can do it too! Strap on some nails and C-4 babe you’re the next past the border!

    • Dog Trainer says:

Totally true, hispanic comedians, too. “I’m Carlos Mencia, I’m a beaner! Black people eat fried chicken and white nerds talk nerdy like this!” Apparently bigotry is ok if you’re a minority.

I’m not against race jokes, but EVERYONE should be allowed to use them and EVERYONE should feel comfortable laughing at them.

*barf* where’s the real, well-written comedy, not just cheap shocks via gross humor and predictable race jokes?

      • Casa says:

Mencia needs to find a dich and die in it…

I’m not ashamed to be white and no bleeding heart is going to make me care what my ancestors may or may not have done. I’d proly do it again if you piss me off.

        • The Truth says:

          **round of applause**

Well done Dog and Michelle. Quite right. Chris Rock says some incredibly racist things about the Whites, but nobody takes any notice. However get a white comedian doing the same sort of humour and it’s “Oooh… You’re a nasty racist. Begone with you”. Sorry I’m into true equality if one group can’t tell a certain type of joke then NO ONE should be able to tell that type of joke. Otherwise you get inequalities and that’s where you get racism from. And before we get people saying “But the poor (whatever race you like) have been oppressed for centuries”, so do you believe that it is right that the IRA blew up Shopping centres, railway stations and even a Memorial Service because the Irish People have been oppressed since King Henry the something took over Ireland (he was given it by the Pope apparently) in the 1200s. Or do you think that it’s right that the Chechnyans killed hundreds of children since they were being oppressed by the Russians??? Remember if it’s wrong for one group to do it then it is wrong for anyone to do it. There cannot be any grey areas. It must be a simple yes or no with no one being in the dark as to what is allowed or is unacceptable.

        • sara says:

Don’t be ashamed of a genetic coin toss but do be ashamed of showing such ignorance and folly, (rhymes with proly only it is an actual word).
And for the record I have loved Jeff Dunham for years, he hits on every stereotype out there and it is just plain funny!
Now everybody, group hug, NOW!! Or I will KEEEEL YOU!!!

  11. Piggy says:

This dude is far from funny. All his puppets aren’t funny either.

    This, also, is not funny.

    • Moo says:

I agree with you totally. I hate this guy, and I don’t understand why people think he’s funny, at all.

      • shonuff says:

the majority of society are freaking idiots, which leads to “comics” such as this gaining fans.
…these are the same people that endorse the overload of crappy reality shows out there.
to sum up my statement = dumb people like dumb s**t.

        • Laymon says:

How can you judge people like that?
I hate reality shows. I don’t care about celebrities.
          I barely watch TV.
All I read except fictional books is science, news, politics, history, medicine, environment etc.
I give money to charity; both humanitarian and animal causes. I care about my family and friends, and I have my feet nicely planted on the ground.
          I like Jeff Dunham.
You might not be very smart yourself, for expressing a view like that.

        • Walter says:

“The majority of society are freaking idiots”- yep, you just explained how Obamao got elected .

      • The Crapture says:

I’ll give him credit for one thing: at least he’s not Dane Cook.

      • Miz says:

Maybe because you have an under-developed sense of humor? What tickles you? Cheech and Chong drug humor? Three Stooges physical humor? Eddie Murphy profanity humor? Just because you don’t get it doesn’t mean I don’t.

    • landl says:

Not a fan of his either!

    • sierra says:

You got that right… he sucks donkey balls. One of the least funny comedians I’ve ever seen. I think it’s a travesty of broadcasting that he’s got his own show while so many competent comedians do without.

      • paws4thot says:

Bill Bailey, Hattie Heyridge, Norman Lovett, Lenny Henry, Victoria Wood.

Well, that’s 5 to start with.

        • Vila Restal says:

I wouldn’t call Lenny Henry a competent comedian. Incompetent would probably cover it. Although he was decent when he was with Three of a Kind, and he was funny enough in the beginning but he’s lost his spark for quite a while. Also most of the ones you’ve listed are actually busy with other stuff as many of them are Stand Up comedians, such as Bill Bailey and Victoria Wood. However Lenny Henry have had several series (however his last couple have been critically panned as not being funny and besides which he’s advertising Premier Inns now :-) )

  12. Gordonski says:

I don’t get it. Do you have to know that guy to find out what’s supposed to be racist in that image?

    • boater407 says:

What’s racist about that image? You got something against a tuft of green hair?

    • Emilio says:

This image isn’t racist. The comic is accused of racism because his other puppets include a black guy who is a horrible stereotype of an Uncle Tom and an Arab puppet that is of course a suicide bomber who wants all of us infidels to die. He’s a horrible man. not funny and his lips move. Don’t know why this image was use for this caption though.

      • boater407 says:

The black puppet, first of all, is not a stereotype of an “Uncle Tom” (do you even know what that is?), but a fast-talking agent. Secondly, Achmed is not an Arab puppet, but a terrorist puppet made in China (it says so on his ass).

The charge of racism is the last refuge of people who’ve lost any hope of gaining a privileged position in society based on their claim to be a victim. It is also used by people on behalf of the aforementioned when they have run out of arguments against productive people keeping what they’ve earned.

        • Paul says:

If you like him or not, you have to admit his act borders on racism. Lots of people do both (see above for the “So, he’s racist, so what? He’s funny, and so is Chris Rock, I don’t see anyone complaining…” comments)

I don’t remember the name of the character, but it’s a hispanic Jalapeno pepper. Achmed has nothing on that puppet for racial stereotypes.

          • Basara549 says:

Okay, wise-arse, then explain by your logic, that he’s racist against white people, because two of his puppets are a low-IQ redneck and an bitter old codger.

You can’t pick and choose, then label the grossy manipulated result racism.

            • Paul says:

I haven’t seen the other characters. But if the redneck is stupid, I assume the jokes are about its stupidity? Not really offensive.

The old guy? Are the jokes about his age? Then it’s ageist. I can imagine old people getting offended.

              I dunno, as I said, I haven’t seen them.

I did see the pepper, though, and the jokes were about it’s Hispanicness and its accent. So it was racist. There’s no two ways about it.

              • INSOMNIOS says:

as for your comment on stupidity not being racial. i will remind you that accent is one of the things you mentioned about the pepper. the redneck did have a hick ACCENT. also the stupidity was mocking the stereotypical low iq of the redneck culture, which is just as valid a racial stereotype as any Mexican cultural stereotype.

      • Miz says:

You forgot the white one who thinks he is a superhero, (soooo racist) and the Jalapeno on a stick. Guess that means all Hispanics are green sombrero wearing vegetables…

  13. ladytech says:

I am a person of multi culture. Although we have black comedians making racists jokes,it still does not make it right. NOTE!!!!! not all black people find racist jokes by black comedians funny, Nor do they find white jokes funny. I guess it all depends on the type of person you are.

    • Dave says:

Your comment is hilarious. Most of the black Americans I have met have been raging racists, specifically they hate white people. Oh, they may work with white people, and live by white people, but they hate whitey! They hate the MAN!

Personal experience has taught me that black Americans hate me and would victimize me if they thought they could get away with it because I am white.

Hispanics are not far behind either.

  14. damon5334 says:

Yeah, except Jeff Dunham isn’t talented and he does move his lips… quite a bit actually. He was funny when I was 10.

  15. Foonanas says:

I think he’s hilarious. And I agree that if what Jeff Dunham says is racist then so are half the other comedians who are out there (whatever color they are). He doesn’t pick out one group of people, he pretty much makes fun of everyone. Jose Jalepeno is hispanic, Bubba J is a redneck, Sweet Daddy D is a black man, Walter is an old white guy, Achmed is a dead terrorist, Peanut is… who knows what. Hell, he makes fun on himself! Get over it people.

  16. Nathreee says:

I think his sexist jokes are far worse…

  17. sadface says:

Realistically, if some of you people would get over yourselves, stop being so serious all the time, and learn to laugh at things that are otherwise meaningless and lighthearted – and definitely good-willed in nature – you might learn to be happier and find laughter in situations where all you get now is the inner panic of, “oh, my, that’s racist. don’t laugh at that.” If you can’t laugh at yourself, what can you laugh at? If you can’t laugh at life or culture’s idiosyncracies, what are you laughing at? Jay Leno’s Funny Headlines?

The rest of us don’t need you anyway, then.

    • L. says:

My dad says that too. But the thing is, some people are SENSITIVE! That’s not a bad thing. We all have different senses of humour.

  18. rumsfish says:

its not racism but he has his hand in animals usually.

  19. ChainsawDoggie says:

Sense of Humor – Google it. Wiki it. SOMETHING!

  20. T. Dup says:

Jeff Dunham? I’ve learned to laugh at myself, and other things at a young age. I think he is a wonderful comedian who touches on a vast array of topics and tries to make light of them. A little humor nowadays is a fine thing. People who try to make more out of it than there is need to lighten up and take a look around them, there are a lot of situations to laugh at if you have an ounce of humor. Please get off the “it’s a racist thing”. This is the first time I’ve ever posted a comment. I guess I finally had enough of the bashing. Have a great day before someone has a chance to mess it up!! God bless and love thy neighbor

  21. kg333 says:

“You don’t let Jews in your bar? YOU RACIST BASTARD!”

    • tiggerzdad says:

      Hahahahahaha!

      • Vila Restal says:

As far as I can remember here’s an appropriate quote (Actually I’ll give you two, but I’ll have to charge you travelling expenses :-) ) from the famous Jewish Comedian Groucho Marx – on behing told he wasn’t eligible to join a county club – “I wouldn’t want to join the sort of Country Club that let people like me join”, and another “My Son’s only half Jewish which part of him would you let join?” :-)

        • paws4thot says:

I’ve a notion that the club in question was a “gentleman’s club”, he was elected as a member, and responded “Please accept my resignation, since I have no desire to be a member of a club which has such low standards that they will accept me as a member”.

  22. duck says:

Racist? Maybe. But it’s not necessarily hateful.

  23. GTFOverurself says:

Seriously. It’s a joke, it’s not a personal attack on you, or someone you care about. He’s trying to make people laugh. He’s not trying to spread evil and hate and bring about the end of the world the way some drama queens try and make it sound.

Too much self-important sensationalism and narcissism, not enough humility and perspective. If all it takes is some puppeteer playing to stereotypes in his act to send you into an indignant huff…seriously.

YOU HAVE MUCH BIGGER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT THAN SO-CALLED ‘RACIST’ COMEDIANS. SEEK HELP. IMMEDIATELY.

  24. Fence says:

For the people out there who think Jeff Dunham is racist, I would just like to remind you that most comedians won’t say/perform/film jokes that people don’t find funny and wouldn’t pay to see. Therefore, by claiming that one very successful comedian is racist, you are also saying that his audience is (and trust me, he has a gargantuan audience).

Also, a quick note on humour. One of its strong-points is that it can make you laugh at almost anything, even yourself. And no, I don’t think he means it.

I, for one, find him rather funny compared to other “comedians” out there.

  25. LadyLuck says:

Awwww, I disagree. I’d pick Sammy Davis Jr.

    • brak the Zappaist says:

Patrice O’neil. Nothing more needs to be said. Brilliant, especially when guesting on O&A and jamming with the also brilliant Jim Norton.

  26. Dave says:

Who ever created this is just racist against white people or a self-hating white person, so filled with “white guilt” that they can’t see the forest for all the trees.

  27. Aayin says:

I’ve never found his humor funny, but I couldn’t care less of what his jokes entail. Let the man be.

  28. Igetstabby says:

Good thing he’s in the United States where he has the freedom to say anything he wants!

  29. Bill says:

So the fact that he has a puppet of a dumb redneck, is that racist, or is that okay? He makes fun of everyone. A grumpy old white man, a redneck, a white superhero wanna be, a black pimp, a suicide bomber, a jalapeno (on a steeck), and whatever the hell Peanut is. I think it is pretty well rounded.

  30. I says:

Seriously people? Comedians and tv shows make joke based on race and stereotypes. Heres a few shows that you may like: Family guy, The Simpsons, South Park, um…..George Lopez. And lots of comedians do it. If you guys cant learn to laugh at yourselves then you are racist too. You laugh at the other racist jokes but not against your own? Live and laugh a little. They all mean it light-heartedly. They are just normal people trying to make a living on what they love most. They love to make people laugh and crack up. That’s what they do!

    • L. says:

I guess the thing is some people take it too far… I find a lot of people who like this stuff “Just for laughs” take it seriously, even though they don’t realise it. There are different kinds of humour that maybe you don’t like, and thats not bad. But please be mindful of us who are sensitive.

  31. Chocolate Seeker says:

who is this jeff dunham guy? and whats that freaky looking gorilla puppet next to him?

  32. Anne Onymous says:

    Have a look at this:

  33. Achmed says:

    YOUR RACIST!

  34. QUITMANBULLDOGS! says:

I didnt know jeff dunham is racist. I guess I should catch up to the world……

  35. charro says:

If he’s racist, at least he’s equal opportunity. In fact, as I recall he has TWO white characters that are white people stereotypes. That means he’s twice as racist against white people, right? ;-)

  36. A Great Big Racist says:

I write this comment laughing hysterically at Jeff Dunham making a joke, via Walter (a crochety old WHITE man) about how he hates everywhere in the country for different reasons. I guess this means white people are impossible to please. Especially old ones. And Bubba Jay, who mixed his printer ink with beer- he’s the other sort of white people.

Jeff Dunham, the racist, has managed to pinpoint exactly what white people are like, just as he so accurately hit hispanics, middle-easterners and blacks. GET OVER IT!! I would be willing to bet the majority of you who call him a racist watch Family Guy and fought for its return after it was cancelled for making fun of Jews. HE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY MOCKER and he doesn’t do it to be offensive, but to over emphasize ridiculous caricatures.

Do we really think that all Arabs are suicide bombers? I certainly don’t. But I find Achmed hysterical because I seriously doubt that a suicide bomber would, post-mordem, refer to the fast that the last thing that went through his mind before he died was his ass. And, I don’t care who calls me a racist for this, I don’t feel like mocking terrorists is all that bad.

Coming from a long, proud line of rednecks, several of whom actually somewhat remind me of Bubba Jay, I can still find it funny when he makes jokes about beer and NASCAR. Would you like to know why? Because it takes something that has a bit of truth to it and blows it up to such an absurd level that its not even resembling the truth.

Jose Jalapeno on a Stick’s biggest joke is his accent. And Jeff doesn’t say that there is anything wrong with the accent. In fact, he usually uses Peanut, who is intended to be the obnoxiously offensive one, to do the mocking, so people feel bad for Jose. Is that racism? Because I see that as recognizing that hispanic accents can be strong and that some people can be cruel about it, but that sometimes it’s okay to laugh.

I fall down. A lot. And people make fun of me for it all the time. But I don’t cry about it and tell people that they’re biased against clumsy people. I laugh too, because humor is meant to make people laugh. Sometimes, it can get ugly, but Jeff Dunham is not someone who should be targeted as a racist. I’m not saying that I appreciate every one of his jokes, but overall I find him incredibly funny, even when he makes “sexist” jokes as someone said before. As a woman, I find jokes about women shopping and having their periods funny. Why can’t we all just view the other jokes the same way? I fear the day when we won’t have anything to watch on TV because it’s all “too racist.”

  37. Meesh says:

I can’t stand this guy, but not because he’s racist…because he’s not funny. At all. Ever.

  38. AdolphJosephWolf says:

Oh wow, this guy is still around?
And he still has that stupid Woozle whose name is Peanut and who wants to get chicks?
The Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew was making fun of him way back in 1992!
It starts at 4:35 in this clip:

  39. HvsL says:

It boggles my mind that people can’t understand he’s not making off of the (insert ethnic group), he’s making fun of the typical american perception of it.
    Like Achmed.

But it is kinda funny to me that a guy I know got sent to diversity training because he showed one his clips to a friend.

  40. Jefftoaster says:

The dumbasses who think he’s a racist are the kind of morons that think they should be in charge of everyone and everything so that no one will ever be offended by anything. Come on – the guy is frikkin FUNNY! I just hope my kids can grow up in an America WITHOUT the thought police (or is it already too late?)

  41. DFTBAshley says:

I think he’s fantastically funny. We saw him live recently, and were really close-his lips weren’t moving.

  42. seanasaurus says:

the fact that his show was cancelled shows that it’s still not funny even if a puppet says it. how does this guy keep getting work?

  43. Isengrim says:

I love Jeff Dunham. He’s actually one comedian that does still make me laugh – and I like ALL his characters.

If that makes me “racist”, so be it. The word is so overused anyway, it’s bloody meaningless.

I found a copy of his “Very Special Christmas Special” to watch this year, and I must agree with Walter: “I’ve been wanting to say this for a while – screw you, but it’s MERRY CHRISTMAS!” (instead of that bland, meaningless “happy holidays” crapola. I’m surely no Christian – I make fun of them myself with one of MY characters – but taking away the name of a holiday just to avoid offending others is just damn stupid. Or shall we say, intolerant?)

Oh, and said special featured two songs – one by Bubba J (Roadkill Christmas) and one by Achmed (Jingle Bombs) and they were both hilarious. And yeah, I laughed at the end of Roadkill Christmas – and I’m speaking as someone who faced very serious death threats from her (ex) common-law husband.

Lighten up, people. Comedy is a salve. Should we not laugh at anything any more just because some people are sensitive? If you’re sensitive, TOUGHEN UP and grow a skin.

  44. Torak says:

    everyone’s a little bit racist, today… everyone’s a little bit racist, okay!!

  45. Julie says:

Trying not to go all redundant on the racism-or-not argument. Like Mencia and other similar types of humor, he was hilarious to me about the first 2-3 times I saw the show re-run on TV. But also like similar comics, needs a chance to put together some fresh material to stay funny. Stand up comedy needs novelty or it loses its appeal for me. Don’t care if his lips move, but he needs to hold the accents better. Watch a clip, by the end of each segment he’s dropped back into a Peanut-similar sort of lispy voice and loses the unique accent he’s shooting for with each puppet. He should maybe work on that. But I’m hardly one to talk since I could never get up in front of a ton of people and do any kind of act whatsoever. *shrug*

The original LOL here is quite acceptable to me. Sure the act is racist. But not in an evil or malicious way at all. Personally I prefer my comedy in more Lewis Black form, but even his show sucked. Some of em should just stick to stand up tour specials.

  46. SALLY says:

LISTEN HERE I DONT SEE AN THING WRONG WITH THIS OKAY I DONT THINK JEFF DUNHAM IS RACIST BECAUSE I WATCH THE SHOW ALL THE TIME AND I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. HE IS NOT MAKING FUNN OF A RACE IN ANYWAY AND EVERY THING HE SAYS IS TURE THERE ARE PEOPLE LIKE THAT HE IS NOT TARGETTING A RACE. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE HELPING HIM SOO HATE ALL YOU WANT BUT HES NOT RACIST.

  47. it’s racial, this guy is racial!
