Or he could use that ax. Eek!

DWARFS
It’s not wise to anger someone who can easily headbutt you in the balls.

  1. SSD says:

    it’s DWARVES. not dwarfs.

Did I really get first by commenting on a spelling/grammar error?! What is the world coming to?

  2. Loegria says:

The grammar/spelling debate was raging on GraphJam yesterday…looks like it’s overflowed onto this page!

    • jacobyjd says:

At least this one can be verified for sure–in the books, Tolkien defends his reason for the spelling.

lol…I love how the first few people to comment in here did it for the same reason…

  3. TRENCHcoat says:

Spelling does count, and although I prefer “dwarves,” it’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Dwarfs is accepted, even though I don’t like it.

  4. hausjaeger says:

All this about Dwarves and nothing on headbut?

  5. saverpernerper says:

    headbutt. there.

  6. mycatishungry says:

Dwarves are like submarines, you never realize they are around you until is too late

  7. Jamie says:

Dwarves not dwarfs and headbutt not headbut.

I am way too distracted by the spelling to see the humor in this.

Use a spell checker for Christ’s sake!

    • really? says:

Had you not been so distracted you’d have been able to read the other comments and seen that, one, both of those had been pointed out already, and two, “dwarfs” is actually the correct term.

  8. Philip says:

I think the quality of the caption would be improved if it said “so easily” instead of just “easily”. It just sounds more like something Gimli would say, that way.

And “dwarfs” is the multiple term for all human short people. Dwarves are a different species/race, and are entirely fictional. Considering that the danger is people headbutting you in the balls, Dwarfs are a greater risk than Dwarves. So you go not insult Dwarves, and I’ll go not insult Dwarfs. And we’ll see who comes home with the most testicles. It will be me.

  9. null says:

Ignoring the spelling war, just wanna put it out there.

John-Rhys Davies: Fantastic, highly dedicated, and seriously underappreciated actor.

  10. hikari says:

The best bit about John Rhys-Davies playing Gimli was that he’s actually over 6′ tall.

  11. paws4thot says:

You should worry more about the elves anyway; reasoning, from JRRK:_
Legolas “My count is now 41; it has been knifework down here”. From the Battle of Helm’s Deep, if anyone cares enough to check the books or a concordance.

    • bookhobbit says:

On the other hand, Gimli did win that contest, if I remember correctly, though I can’t find the bit in the books where he says it so I may be wrong. By only one orc, but victory is victory, and dwarves are sturdy folk.

  12. Daisy says:

Guess he’ll use the axe way before headbutting you in the nuts xD
    *LAWL*

  13. Aaliyah says:

Dwarves are like submarines.Right on!! And some interesting too :o )

  14. Peaches says:

So I was all “LOL, A+” when I saw this, now my g-string is all in a bunch over the spelling mistakes. D=

  15. Brian says:

It’s the same reason my father advised me to never piss off a short woman. “When you go nose to nose her toes are in it, and when you go toe to toe her nose is in it.”

  16. Caitlin says:

    GRAMMAR NAZIS UNITE!
