Inside the barrel it is a sculpture of Johnny Depp made out of wax, peaking in the barrel is the actual Johnny Depp
Not wax. This is from the changes they made to Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride after the movie.
it’s really a shame they did that. I only got to ride the original once, when i was.. 5 or so. now I have to put up with half of it being from the friggen movie.
Better then when they changed it to please the psycho feminists.
It used to be a woman in the barrel and this was an entire r-n-p scene, with men chasing the women, trying to catch them to violate them, like real pirates did. (Except for the fact woman in the bridal gown who was chasing the pirate to violate him.) Then the feminists got all upset and made them change it into a cat in the barrel with a fish and the men chasing women to get food – except they showed the fat woman chasing the pirate stealing her food.
I’d rather see Captain Sparrow in the barrel then a cat in the feminist-revisionist history.
Ahahaha thanks! I was utterly confused
What is this i don’t even
May be best not to put a finger on it, Edward.
Ha ha, I geddit!
I presume they invited him to check out the Jack Sparrow additions to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride when it reopened at Disneyland.
They did, it’s in the documentary extras on the PotC-Black Pearl DVD. I’m not entirely keen on the updates to the ride, but I suppose it made sense in making the ride more relevant to the younger generation. On the other hand, they were able to make the characters more lifelike.
They did. The first time I went through the ride after the renovation, I think I actually wondered for a moment if Johnny had a day off and was reaaaalllly bored.
You never know.
You never know I read once that Vincent Price replaced his own dummy at the Hollywood Wax museum and got a great kick out of scaring customers staring at the unbelievably good likeness. It’s said he squirted them with water from a syringe he was holding when he replaced his dummy in the tableau, he also did things like wink at them but remained perfectly still so they were sure if they had seen him do it or just imagined it.
Johnny Depp seems to have a wicked sense of humour so I would imagine he would get a kick out of seeing people’s faces if he replaced his dummy for a while.
I remember once as a little kid some ride operator either got bored on POTC or had been fixing something and was instructed to pose whenever a boat came by. Because there was this extra pirate in the cage whistling to the dog and when I looked at him, he smiled and winked.
I want to be the filling in that manwich… yeah I went there.
Haha, I very much so agree.
It’s ok. You’re not the only one!
