Some of us will continue to reflect on the LOST series finale, while others will continue to ponder the cancellation of an old favorite. Seriously, dude, I loved both those shows. I was so bummed when the last episode of “Secret Saturdays” aired (and it as pretty obviously the last one, given what happened). And in the second-to-last episode, they killed off a little kid. ON SCREEN. Yeah, he was an evil kid, but… damn, man! I was like, “Wait, is he…? Did they just…? Oh, my God!”

Twin peaks was great, but I think that he did well to wrap it after two seasons & Laura Palmer’s murder was solved. It ended the series on a high note. I mean, look how badly ‘Fire Walk With Me’ sucked.

Well Joss’ll probably be busy now with the new Avengers movie, and I think he once said in an interview that if Dollhouse gets cancelled he wants to focus more on internet stuff like Dr Horrible.
Firefly continues in the comics however I miss it on TV. But how dare the poll make me choose between Firefly and Dollhouse. So many unanswered questions in both!!!

Whenever I see the name “Titus”, I think of the Anthony Hopkins movie where he bakes the Queen’s children into two pies and feeds them to her because they raped and mutilated his daughter. That move was FRAKKED UP.

Hardly anyone voted for FlashForward. Am I the only person who watched that show? Although I haven’t watched the series finale yet. I DVR’ed it.
I’ve been watching it on Hulu. I won’t say I love it because there’s no comic relief anywhere. It is easy to follow and actually has a plot line, though. I did vote for it since I either hated or never saw any interest in the other shows.
There’s comic relief, but it is pretty few and far between. Stop watching now. I just watched the season/series finale and I want to stab my brain out now.
Too late. I watched it the day after it was broadcast. To say I’m underwhelmed and left with questions is an understatement.
Yeah, the finale left way too many questions, and seemed like a plot convenience in a desperate attempt at a cliffhanger. If the show isn’t going to be picked up by anyone, I’d love it if the show’s producers and writers would at least let us know the mystery behind the show’s plot. Not gonna happen I’m sure. My wife was so mad about it she won’t even talk about it.
I didn’t watch it, I have a hard enough time keeping up with current shows without adding new ones. Although, I’m not sure now I want to watch a show that made you want to stab out your brain
It makes me want to stab out my brain because the season/series finale gives you more questions than it answers, and I know the questions will never be answered. Plus the lead character is a complete tool for most of the season, and that wears thin. The show also started with a lot of little plot points and easter eggs that you thought were gonna be significant later, but were never revisited. In short, it was frustrating. I might have to read the novel the show was loosely based off of.
I just got into Firefly and I absolutely love it!!! I would love a revival, but only with the same actors. This totally made this fangirl’s day!

then bring back The Others, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, Rome, Kyle XY, The Unit, Veronica Mars, Terminator: TSCC, Titus and finally Heroes (yep..it’s been canceled)

Rome was fantastic. So much better than the average TV drek.
SG-1 had a great run, and got a little silly by the end. Heroes is starting to do the same. Better Off Ted needs to get picked back up, it is the best show on the air, even though it will only be such for the next what, 5 or 6 days?
Definitely Kyle XY! They ended on a cliffhanger, and it still bugs me. It was a good show. Heroes started great, but it went downhill, so I think they should make a spinoff about just Hiro.

As much as I’d love to see Serenity fly again, it would be like the dog brought back to life in Stephen King’s Pet Cemetary: it wouldn’t be the same. The movie gave us closure, and made sure we won’t see the amazing ensemble cast together ever again.
Plus, Firefly’s great tragedy, getting cancelled after 14 episodes, is possibly its greatest blessing. Unlike some other shows that didn’t really get started until the 2nd or 3rd season, Firefly started out great – and here’s some of my pet peeves about my favorite shows that started out great:
I don’t like that they changed the intro sequence in S2, I don’t like the new characters introduced in S4, why did they write her off, why did he quit, what’s with the weird sound editing in the latter seasons, writing pretty much sucked in S6 and S7, the main character became overused in S3, a chesty blonde? really?, it lacked continuity from beginning to end, wtf where they thinking, the show can’t go on without the main character, WTF WAS HE THINKING?, the finale pretty much sucked, it started out as a great show, but I ended up hating it.
There. None of these could ever happen to Firefly, which is possibly why it’s so dear to so many of us.

Best show ever. And I don’t think it would have ever been dumbed down. I read once Joss had an entire 7-year storyline outlined in his head. “Serenity” is, if I remember correctly, the encapsulation of seasons 2 & 3 (yes, that means that Wash would have died eventually anyway.)

I as well, although hubby rented Serenity not knowing it was a continuation of the series – after we watched it we went right back and watched the whole series. Loved it.
Wondered when someone was going to mention Brimstone. What a great premise for a show. Glad that Chiller TV shows marathons occasionally, but it’s not the same as a continuing storyline…wish it would return!
While it was a great show, Firefly has been dead too long to resurrect, especially now that there has been a movie which explained all the fine points and answered most of the questions.

Dark Angel. I just watched the two seasons that it ran for and it was great! But they were expecting to have a third season, so they left almost everything open-ended. NOW I’LL HAVE TO READ A BOOK TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS!!!! GRRRR!!!
Of course, it’d also be impossible to bring the show back as any and all of the actors and actresses have had 10 years to change their appearances :/
Anyone else agree that if they plan to cancel a show it should be allowed to run a “final season”? Like Dark Angel was canceled after they were done with season two, but right before they started three, which is why it was so open-ended. Wouldn’t it have made sense to just let them do season three, knowing it would be canceled, so that they could finish the story?

Well, I don’t think I would necessarily bring it back, but I wish that “Star Trek: The Original Series” had gone for more than three seasons. It was such a good show.
I agree with this. Bringing it back now would not do justice to the original.
I’ve always felt a good series idea would be a “Starfleet Academy” – there are so many possibilities. They could do special episodes where they show days from some of out favourites, it could be about Wesley Crusher, or it could just be its own series. I think it would be fun.
I’d watch that. But, you can’t have Wesley without Wil Wheaton.

I would bring back Drak Pack. It was a cartoon from the early 80′s, about three teenage monsters who fight evil to make up for the evil of their ancestors. It was made by Hanna-Barbera. In addition, I would like to be one of the writers of the new episodes, and I want a live-action movie (written by me).

This may seem an odd choice, but: Enterprise. Yes, seasons 1-3 mostly sucked. But when Manny Coto became show-runner in season 4, it all changed, and the result was the best Trek since season 2 of the original series. (Among other things, it had the best Mirror Universe episode of *any* of the series, including TOS.)
I wanted to vote for Firefly but Arrested Development owns a larger chunk of my heart.

WONDERFALLS! If you haven’t watched it go and see all 13 glorious episodes on Hulu. It was a fantastic, clever, quirky, sarcastic show that still managed to mix funny with actual life lessons.
Now for all the shows I’ve ever loved that saw the ax prematurely.

That was the other show he was in! I was sad because he’s so hot and such a great actor I felt like he was doomed to be forever canceled. I’m glad he got picked up for “Castle”, although I have not watched it.

Honestly, as much as I love firefly, at this point it is best left in peace. Following Serenity, any show they do would just not be the same show. Sure, it could be good, but it wouldn’t be Firefly persay. Also, do you really want it getting renewed until it’s a dead horse like so many other shows do. Great show, great movie, but should be left to lie in my opinion.
Brimstone! Probably too dark for most, but utterly WONDERFUL. Had to be great to make me like Peter Horton! And John Glover was the best Satan EVAH!

It was canceled by ABC. Unless someone else picks it up, those other seasons will never see the light of day. And judging from the awful ratings it ended up with, it’s not likely anyone will pick it up. It’s too bad. I really liked that show, and the season finale really rubbed me the wrong way knowing it was the last we were gonna see of it.

People have mentioned Moonlight, but seriously – remake city. If you want a good vampire series, Forever Knight was awesome. They’d never bring it back now (and who else remembers it besides me?), but it was long before Moonlight or Angel and did the vampire-detective scenario much better.

It would be stellar if some anime I liked would get more seasons, too.

That was a fun show, but I don’t think anybody would call it short lived.
There are some good choices on that list, but I’m going with The Unusuals. That show was hilarious and had a fantastic cast. I’m surprised I’m the first one to mention it.
The Class. The writing was hilarious and the cast was phenomenal! The actors/actresses all left for crappy roles in other things after the show was canceled, but the show could have been bigger than Friends was. (And funnier, too.)

MOONLIGHT! I miss that *so* much! CBS was so *stupid* to cancel it! They were ahead of the banwagon! They were the *leader* of the banwagon! Moonlight was first, then True Blood/Twilight (the movie), now The Vampire Diaries… As Mick St. John said in the first episode ‘ I guess they’re back in style.’
Herman’s Head. One of the best shows a young FOX network ever canceled. Sadly it only ran for 3 seasons. They still haven’t even put it on DVD.

I remember watching that show. It wasn’t great, but it was better than most of the crap Fox had on back then (anyone remember that crapfest Oops? No? Didn’t think so). I thought it was funny that the voice of Lisa Simpson was on that show, which they made a crack about once.

What about Drive, i though that show was amazing and they had just brought out that amazing muscle car, that or Firefly, one hell of a show. And why did they cancel the show then make a movie?
Personally, I’d be over the moon if the powers that be would bring back The Dresden Files. I absolutely adored that show and what I didn’t catch when it aired I made sure to go back and get on Hulu. I think they could get a number of good seasons out of that show, if they picked a better time slot for it this time. I watch maybe 3 hours of TV a month during the school year because I can’t stand the commercial breaks, and still watched Dresden Files when it aired.

Definitely Firefly. I think a lot of good shows were cancelled too soon, but none had the same potential that Firefly did. None really captured my attention or my heart like Firefly did.
