Aw, give poor Günter his credit!
No kidding… Gunter is way smarter than anyone working at BP.
haha.. :p
Nah, see, the engineers whose job it was to figure out how to drill for the oil, they got paid the big bucks. The engineers whose job it was to figure out how to stop an oil leak, they got paid in bananas.
slave labor.. you get what you pay for
give me it
A monkey? A MONKEY? HIS NAME IS GÜNTER!
To be fair, the government won’t give the monkeys the giant stoppers they need to get the job done.
They’ll have to use their bananas.
Bye-bye, paycheck
As usual, the problem here is managers who ignored warnings from their engineers about serious safety issues and should be shot, and engineers who didn’t have enough backbone to shoot the managers after they ignored said warnings.
But they weren’t BP engineers… they were Transocean engineers.
If you hop in a taxi to get from A to B and the steering column breaks causing a serious accident, are you to blame? No, the driver or company that maintains and leases the car is to blame.
BP leased the Horizon from Transocean – it was run and maintained by their people. They should be the ones catching the flak for this.
In fact, if you look them up, Transocean have a record of oil-related catastrophes dating back decades. They have in fact been cited for poorly-maintained blow-out preventers before (Transocean Rather, August 2005).
But of course it’s more convenient for Obama to keep directing people towards British Petroleum, rather than admit that the incident is actually the fault of the US arm of a Swiss company.
