ROFlash: David Tennant’s New Movie

Matt Smith has less fangirls? Screw it, I want me job back.

DAVID TENNANT

David Tennant from “Doctor Who” is slated to play the role of Peter Vincent in a remake of the 1985 film “Fright Night.” In this version, Vincent will be a Vegas magician, and Colin Farrell will co-star as a vampire that Vincent has to fight. Never seen the original? What’s your problem?!  Go read about it.

No word on how this will affect my Public Television watching. If you’re a Tennant fangirl/boy, you can check out the poster at the source.

  1. oyouou says:

Really, who the hell thinks this guy’s sexy?

    He’s freakin’ butt ugly!

  2. spacey says:

I’m sorry but I have to say I think he’s pretty hot.

  3. artschoolnerd says:

    I’d hit it.

Tennant is not conventionally attractive. But he’s quite charming and his (acting at least) mannerisms are endearing.

    • CCC says:

Except when he bares his teeth and grimaces when running or concentrating really hard. I can’t stand that, he looks like an gargoyle when he does it.

    • KC says:

      Definitely would too.

Though I’m just curious, what IS your definition of conventionally attractive?

      • artschoolnerd says:

        Hmmmmm……….

        Brad Pitt?

I think Tennants cute, but he’s certainly a bit “off” (awkward might be the best word for it) compared to Hollywood actors and/or male models, who tend to be held up as “ideal”.

This may just be because he has an extremely expressive face.

        • Annabelle says:

The slight awkwardness makes him all the more endearing; he’s cute in a geeky way, which makes a lot of the nerdy girls that watch Doctor Who (myself included) fall in love with him.

          • Miss Kitty Fantastico says:

this. Its the same reason why I find Reid way hotter than Morgan on Criminal Minds.

I’ll leave other girls to drool over some muscle-bound Hollywood hunk of the week. The cute geeky quirky awkward underdog will win in my book every time. :)

    • Casa says:

Sometimes you get sick of looking at all the perfect beefcake males and the wiry quirky ones are a refreshing change of pace… like Peter Wingfield om nom nom! ^_~

  4. Jahzzie says:

I’m there with Spacey, He’s damn fine, and clever! Smith tries too hard. Pond would have WAY more fun with the 11th Dr.

  5. Nell says:

I’ll admit to being A David Tennant fangirl. I think he’s hot, adorable and charming as all hell.

  6. Aaron Hong says:

Well at least it’ll be better than Twilight.

  7. Trish says:

Dr. Who-Great show or Greatist show?

  8. Mary says:

    I’m a Matt Smith fangirl. Just saying…

    • Susan says:

So am I, although I’ll really watch anything with David in it as well…
Matt Smith is really really great. (And adorable!)

    • Ayeka678 says:

      Ditto.

I am not a David Tennant fan. His appearance really bothers me, and I am not attracted to him at all. The way people are ga-ga over him really turns me off too.

I greatly prefer Matt Smith as the Doctor.

  9. pepsibookcat says:

David Tennant is without a doubt the single most attractive man in show business. He is a magnificent specimen not just because he’s gorgeous but also because of his charm, warmth, and intelligence. He’s an all around fabulous package.

    Please, may I have him?

  10. hello says:

this is a beautiful picture of David Tennant <3 but it is ruined my the horrible grammar right at his left armpit… fewer* dammit it's not hard at all!

  11. Rosie says:

Personally, I don’t find any of them attractive.

But least of all this bony-faced tosspot.

    • juju says:

All the more bony-faced tosspot for me, then.

I’ll give you he’s not a ‘conventionally’ good looking guy – but really, he’s a lovely bloke and he’s quite stunning in his own way.

I understand the ‘don’t get it’ brigade, but I can’t understand people saying he’s ugly. In no way, shape or form is that ugly.

  12. Melissa says:

Tennant is geek hotness personified. I don’t want hunky, shallow beefcake. I want a geeky, highly driven guy who’s handsome and intelligent. That would be David. :)

I miss him as the Doctor. Matt Smith’s okay, but the stories he’s being given are sadly dull (and he’s very, very weird looking).

  13. MEEE says:

OMG !! someone who talks sense !! David Tennant was the best doctor ever !! Matt Smith has a face that nobody could watch !! All of my friends say he is the worst doctor ever !! You may say i’m wrong but the ratings prove it
    David Tennant – 13million
    Matt Smith- 6.5million
The rating do the talking !!!!

    • Erin K says:

MEEE, the ratings aren’t just about Smith. Tennant is my favorite doctor, but Matt Smith is also cute and doing a great job. The problem is that show has a different head writer. The writing isn’t as deep as it was when Tennant as The Doctor.

  14. Ri Ri says:

No he’s not sexy in the usual hollywood sense, but he has enough of the traits(the side burns, jawline, and eyes)to be considered yummy(imho)plus the slightly nerdy look that makes you think if you ever met him you might stand a chance.

  15. Sillylilly says:

Um, David Tennant is soooo attractive! In that impossibly adorable geeky sort of way. Also he has nice legs (for any of you who have seen THAT Doctor who spoof) I am so excited to see him in fright night! He was my favorite Doctor! (Although Matt Smith isn’t so bad :D )

  16. Sofja (* says:

This “David’s better than Matt”-stuff started to grow on me, so I’m trying to remain calm and do not swear. Let’s see.
Fact: David Tennant is my favourite actor on Earth. I think his Doctor is wonderful, he was great as Casanova, Eddington, Jimmy Murphy or Hamlet. I LOVE him to bits, I see him as a honored family member of mine. I think he’s a great man, will be a great Dad, and doing a fantastic job in every topic he works.
Matt Smith is a fresh actor, he’s under 30, and was 25 when he got the job. He is already a wonderful actor, I’ve seen his former movies (Ruby in the Smoke, Womb – this is truly a wonderful work of his, I can offer it for everyone who like sci-fi or weird perspectives of live; In Bruges – he was younger Harry but the scene had been deleted and other shows he made so far.), he’s got quite a charismatic personality!
I love him, he’s a very good Doctor, and we all will get used to it in time. :)
Ps: David wanted, and needed to go. Doctor Who is about changes, bloodfreshing, new faces to get to know, used to, love. So get over on David’s wentaway and watch his (and Matt’s) other stuff, they both _are_ faboulus in everything! :) )
