In case you haven’t heard (seriously, what the hell is wrong with you??), today marks the 25th anniversary of “Back to the Future”, a movie so epic there’s only one word for it: “HEAVY”.
I still remember watching it as a kid and being blown away. Not only was “Back to the Future” an incredible movie, but it was also a total quote-machine. A movie with such amazing dialogue you could drop a line in any situation and look totally badass.
Speaking of badasses, how about that Biff Tannen? He was like the epitome of bullies: tough, dumb, and mean. Plus, he had one of the world’s best bully lead-ins of all time: Butthead. You don’t come back from something like that.
In honor of the film’s silver anniversary and re-release of the updated trilogy on Blu-Ray, the original cast and crew sat down with Meredith Vieira this morning on “The Today Show” to discuss the film’s ongoing cultural significance and try to explain why, after 25 years, people still love “Back to the Future”.
Seriously Meredith, do you really have to ask why this movie is still around? How about oh, jeez, I don’t know, because it’s awesome? Did you ever think of that?
