Finally! “A Klingon Christmas Carol” opened in Chicago this week, and the play sounds hilarious. Unlike the original version about love and generosity, “A Klingon Christmas Carol” features Klingon Scrooge learning about courage and bravery.
The kicker is that unless Klingon Scrooge can change, Tiny Tim gets murdered most heinously. If all this wasn’t enough to make a Trekkie go crazy, then dig this: the ENTIRE PLAY is in Klingon.
Awesome right?!?!

OMG! Trekkiegasm!
This. I so want to fly to Chicago now!
Someone must film and upload this! Share this magic with the world!!!!
“A Klingon Christmas Carol” finally a date night a gamer might get action after
I EFFING SAW THIS.
IT WAS AMAZING.
I’m effing jealous!!! No – really I am. I hope this goes on tour at some point in my life. It would make my year.
AWESOME!!! some friends and I went out to eat after a concert and actually saw the flier for this XD
This is awesome!!
This is just insanely awesome! I’m not even a Star Trek fan and I wanna see this!
I’m a huge Trek fan, but I admit…my Klingon sucks. Are there like subtitles or something?
I hope so. Saw a Russian production of Twelfth Night a few years ago, had subtitles running just above and below the stage, otherwise I would have been pretty lost, despite having read the play a few times.
Yes, there are subtitles. You should go.
Yes, there are super-titles for the Klingon-language challenged.
Shoot, Chicago–what took you so long?
It’s a holiday tradition in Minneapolis….
Qapla’
cause that really needed to be done… /sarcasm
Ahahaha. I’m in this show. Never thought it would end up here though.
@Stardrake – The theatre company that does it in Minneapolis started a second branch in Chicago so that we can finally get it and make it a holiday tradition here, too.
I agree w/ my co-star, CurlyAndy….
This is hast to be one of our best blog mentions to date.
You have not experienced “A Christmas Carol” until you’ve seen it performed in the Original Klingon.
As much as I am a Trekkie, I really never thought about learning Klingon. But I wouldn’t mind watching a play in a language I don’t understand if there’s Klingons in it!
I hear there’s projected subtitles so you can follow along!
Huzzah! One day, perhaps I will go.
I’ll try to…
*sunglasses*
Make it so.
HLJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA’!
God DAMMIT why don’t I live in Chicago? I would kill to see this!!
I’m surprised that the Klingon makeup crew didn’t put prosthetic forehead plates to cover up the ridges. I’m sure this story takes place before stardate 4523.3
They are probably following the theatre tradition that was around in Shakespeare’s day when they would perform plays set in earlier times (say ancient Rome) in their current clothing styles. Hence, no attempt to cover the ridges.
everybodywants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads
I saw this last year Also, one of my songs (translated) is in it, or was last year – I don’t know if the script changes. It is insanely awesome. I’m hoping they eventually license other companies to do it.
So far beyond awesome.
WSC (Washington Shakespeare Company) did Hamlet in the origional Klingon. It rocked also!
EPIC WIN
Commedia Beauregard also did parts of “Klingon Hamlet” … on the Blu-Ray of Star Trek VI.
This needs to come to Boston.
Klingon must be going through some kind of cultural resurgence. Regretsy is commissioning a Klingon version of Achy Breaky Heart in answer to someone’s Alchemy request on Etsy. Wish I learned Klingon instead of Spanish…
Oo **nerd overload** ::shovels out airport and boards plane to Chicago::
*facepalm*
