RUSSELL BRAND
Religion is a funny thing. It preaches moderation, but not in itself. That’s why whenever I hear of an ex-druggie finding religion, I’m a little skeptical. It’s like trading one addiction for another.
Take our friend Russell Brand, whom Katy Perry claims is “becoming a great man of god.” He is an ex-heroin junkie with a very checkered past (including giving an HJ to a gentleman in a bathroom for sport). He cleaned up his act and started dating Perry, but now that the excitement of her rack has worn off, he’s looking for something else. So now we have Russell Brand, religious man. Not as interesting as Russell Brand, HJ-wielding heroin addict, but probably safer for every one involved.
