Dr. Murray has been remanded to court authorities and awaits sentencing on Nov. 29, 2011. Based on current California law, Dr. Murray’s maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter is four years with a high likelihood that most of his time will be served in a house arrest type of scenario.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I love Michael Jackson and massively multiplayer online games but combining the two just seems like a bad idea. As a kid I played the original Michael Jackson video game “Moonwalker” on my Sega Genesis and nothing really compares to the feeling you get when you do a sweet spin move-crotch grab to kill a room full of random street toughs.

The new MJ game is being developed by SEE Virtual Worlds and will be called “Planet Michael”. Touted as “The Ultimate Michael Jackson Online Game,” SEE says:

[Planet Michael] will be an immersive virtual space themed after iconic visuals drawn from Michael’s music, his life and the global issues that concerned him. Entire continents will be created that will celebrate Michael’s unique genius in a way that underscores his place as the greatest artist of all time.”

“Planet Michael” is set to launch next year and I am honestly in shock at this point. How can this be real? Will there be a zone of zombies with nothing but “Thriller” music playing? A continent called Neverland, where nobody ever gets old? Will the Jackson 5 make an appearance? What about an expansion pack featuring Paul McCartney? SO MANY QUESTIONS AND SO LITTLE INFO!

MTV UK is reporting that Michael Jackson is now the number one downloaded artist in the world, with sales booming in the recent anniversary of his death. (In India, 26% of all downloaded music is by Michael Jackson.) “Beat It” is most popular, followed by “Billie Jean” and “Thriller.”

Yeah right.  According to Google search, Jackson was almost $500 million in debt when he died.  If there was anything left in the tank song-wise, I’m sure Sony and/or the Jackson Estate would have pulled the trigger years ago. (Read:  These songs are going to suck.)
