Gervais: in French it means ‘Uncomfortably Familiar’.
(Ricky Gervais)

This is amazing. Ricky Gervais went right for the throat in his opening monologue this year during the Golden Globes and absolutely killed. Sadly, he won’t be invited back and the HFPA has released a statement saying he will never be nominated for one of their crappy awards. Boo hoo!

So apparently, it’s common knowledge that beloved British comedian Ricky Gervais used to front an ’80s new wave band called Seona Dancing (full disclosure: I’d never heard of this). Normally, I’d shrug and say, “Whatevs, who *didn’t* front an ’80s new wave band?” But then I saw this video.
Yes, it’s a blatant Depeche Mode rip-off, and yes, Ricky is doing his very best David Bowie impersonation, but still — Gervais was a STONE COLD FOX. More like this, less like “The Invention of Lying,” pls.
Elmo, I think your wish to have Brad Pitt sing you a lullaby is terribly misguided. Let’s face it: Brad Pitt is the poor man’s Ricky Gervais.
